I recently visited Ippon Yari in the FCIE Compound, Cavite, and my dining experience was quite delightful. Let me share my thoughts on the dishes we ordered:
Grilled Mackerel with Rice Set: The mackerel was perfectly grilled, flaky, and seasoned just right. The accompanying rice was fluffy and complemented the fish beautifully. A simple yet satisfying dish.
California Maki: The California maki rolls were fresh and well-balanced. The creamy avocado, crab stick, and tobiko (fish roe) combined harmoniously. I appreciated the attention to detail in the presentation.
Chicken Nanban: This dish surprised me! The crispy fried chicken was coated in a tangy-sweet nanban sauce. The contrasting flavors worked well together, and the portion size was generous.
Gyoza: The gyoza dumplings were a highlight. Thin wrappers, juicy pork filling, and a nice sear on the bottom—everything you’d expect from good gyoza. The dipping sauce added an extra layer of flavor.
Venue and Ambiance: As mentioned before, the restaurant’s interior remains simple, but the focus is truly on the food. The FCIE Compound location might not be the most picturesque, but once you’re inside, the aroma of Japanese cuisine takes over.
Responsive Staff: The service was prompt, and the staff ensured we had everything we needed. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful recommendations.
In summary, Ippon Yari delivers on its promise of authentic Japanese flavors. If you’re in the mood for a satisfying meal that won’t break the bank, give it a try. And don’t forget to explore their other offerings—I hear their Nagasaki Ramen...
Read moreWe went to this Japanese resto today around 4PM. It was raining, so the ramen felt so perfect. The place is easy to find thanks to the big signs visible from the main road, and they’ve got really nice parking right in front.
Service was amazing, super friendly staff and fast. We got seated right away even without a reservation. No service charge, they take cards, and everything felt smooth and chill.
The food? 100% authentic Japanese. You know it’s real when there are Japanese people dining all around you. Just a heads up, servings are huge, so don’t over order unless you’re starving.
We got the Chasumen, ramen with lots of pork slices and Shoyu Moyashi Ramen, Broth was delicious, noodles are handmade, chewy and has butter and bean sprouts in it. It is very satisfying and big serving. I just wish the pork was a littlecooked more.
We also had gyoza. Had perfect bite, crispy outside and juicy inside. The shrimp fried rice was buttery, savory, and full of flavour. I really love it. We ordered assorted Nigiri sushi too, fresh and great for those who like variety. It came with miso soup. We also had their Mochi ice cream. Not for someone looking for very sweet ice cream. The chocolate is the best one. It's a simple dessert.
For drinks, we had cocktails and berry juice. Super affordable. Alcoholic drinks are strong for just ₱100!
If you’re craving authentic Japanese food with big servings, good prices, cozy vibes, and strong drinks. THIS IS THE PLACE FOR IT. Totally coming back. Sushi and comfort...

Price is surprisingly cheaper than the Ramen house/restaurants in BGC.
The place boasts its delicious Ramen and the gyoza the perfect pair! The sushi and sashimi moriawase are both delicious paired with Sake! They even have complimentary salad, green tea and coffee😍 so thoughtful. For a coffee lover like me, I appreciate being asked if I want coffee after a hearty meal 😍.
Things to try when you're here:
❤️ Sushi Moriawase ❤️ Sashimi Moriawase 💜 Sake ❤️ Chasumen ❤️ Pirikara Ramen
❤️ You can order a set of gyoza for only 100php when you order a ramen, the serving of each ramen is really big so if you want, you can request to split the serving into 2 😊
The place, the food and the people deserve a 5-star rating. The quality of the food is the same every time we're here, so I'd recommend this to everyone❤️
P. S this is not a paid review LOL it is...
