ALAB Burger just opened last August 25, according to the staff that I talked too, and they are currently offering a buy 1 take 1 promo on a variety of burgers. Their menu includes a classic flame-grilled beef burger, cheeseburger, Hawaiian burger, double patty and cheese burger (Double Burger), breakfast burger with an egg, and a triple cheeseburger. I decided to try the Double Trouble Burger.
When I arrived, they were almost closing, but they were nice enough to still cook my order. It was a bit surprising that they were closing so early, around 9 PM, on a Friday night. Anyway, the ambiance was hard to judge since most of the tables and chairs were already packed away. However, the location is in a great spot that seems to attract a lot of customers, so it probably has a better vibe earlier in the day.
As for the food, the burger was good. The patty was nice and thick, but the sauce tasted pretty standard. I think they could definitely experiment more with flavors to make their burgers stand out. Overall, while it was a decent meal, it didn’t leave much of a lasting impression. It’s the kind of burger that you might forget the taste of by the end of the day.
ALAB Burger shows a lot of potential, especially with their great location and variety of options. With a bit more creativity in their flavors, they could easily become a go-to spot for...
Read moreWe've always wanted to try their food here, so we finally ordered take-out. Sad to say, we might not be ordering again soon. Although the staff were mostly congenial and efficient, somehow the food quality was kind of disappointing. Considering the prices weren't really cheap, the taste and texture of their meat weren't satisfactory. The beef platter and chicken solo were both dry. The sides were no longer fresh and were all soggy (and cold). The redeeming factor were the sauces of the chicken and salad. However, personally, the beef sauce tasted odd to me. There was a generous serving of the java rice that came in with their solo meal. Surprisingly this was the best tasting amongst all the items.
The concept is very interesting, however there should be improvements done with the meats considering their label evolves around the idea of grilled items.
They have limited space for dine-in, but they have an option for alfresco dining that is more suitable with our...
Read moreArrived there at 6pm. We inquired first if they would still be able to serve us since their declared Open hours is only until 6:30. Fortunately they were still able to serve us and also the others who came after us.
For our first try, we ordered both the special smoked beef and smoked chicken rice bowl. It came with java rice, special sauce, and mango salsa on top of the rice. Both meals had big portions. It was very good. The beef was so tender and the chicken was flavorful. Perfect pair with their rice. The chicken sauce was tangy while the beef sauce was pleasantly sweet. Salsa was good as a break in between spoonfuls of the yummy beef/chicken and rice.
Our first try has been very good and it definitely won't...
