Deo Rios has become one of the most popular restaurants to visit, especially after being featured by many influencers. However, I believe it is overrated.
My family and I, including a post-stroke senior citizen, took the time to enjoy a holiday together and bond. However, this restaurant wasn’t the best choice for that. Upon our arrival, we expected them to prioritize senior citizens, as some of the staff did by offering a chair for our senior while we were ordering. However, when we asked for a specific table for comfort since there were only four tables with cushioned seats, which are more suitable for long-term sitting due to their softness the staff member’s tone was less than pleasant. She said, "Kagina pa na sila ga hulat, kay may pila." While I understand the exhaustion of staff in a crowded restaurant, I believe they should find a way to prioritize seniors or people with disabilities in a more respectful manner, rather than responding with a poor tone.
When we finally sat at the table, we were surprised by how dirty the cushioned seats were. The floor was littered with food rice, tissue, chicken and the seats themselves had sauce stains and chicken crumbs. Although I appreciated the ceiling fan (as it was very hot), I would suggest that the staff remind customers to be cautious around it. The fan is at head level, and if you're not aware of it, you could get hurt.
The food arrived cold, which is not a new issue, as I had read similar reviews beforehand. The buttered chicken was undercooked, with some bloody parts, the lobster was tough and nearly like gum, and as a lover of baked talaba, I was disappointed. It was served cold, watery, and didn't appear fresh. I ate only one and noticed it wasn’t cooked properly. Based on my experience, I believe this restaurant's popularity is more due to its aesthetic than the quality of its food. To make matters worse, my family suffered from food poisoning after eating there.
The ambiance was nice, but the restaurant had a faint smell, which is understandable given it has a fish pond. However, it would be better if they cleaned the pond area more regularly. The koi pond, in particular, was full of algae and trash. It seems like the fish could use more frequent attention to maintain the area.
The restroom was another issue. It was very narrow, and the flush didn’t work. One staff member splashed water on the floor in an attempt to clean it, but this only made the floor even wetter. Customers had to use the restroom with the floor soaking, and if you're wearing sandals or flats, water will seep in, creating a flooding effect. It would have been more effective if she had mopped the floor instead of just splashing water. If there were no customers waiting, she could have allowed the floor to dry before others entered.
Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant unless you're only there for the aesthetic. The poor quality of the food, the dirty conditions, and the overall lack of attention to customer experience caused harm to my family. While this may not happen to everyone, it is likely to occur due to the restaurant's...
Read moreWe traveled from the city to have lunch at Reosdios, as it came highly recommended. The place had a lovely ambiance, and we especially liked the Nipa-style houses where families can dine more privately and peacefully. Unfortunately, those were fully booked, and the waiter mentioned they were mostly occupied by reservations. Still, we settled at a regular restaurant table and ordered our food. I have to say, everything we ordered was delicious—flavorful and satisfying to our taste buds. Prices were also pretty decent, and the surroundings were clean and open-air. Luckily, the weather was pleasant, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The waitstaff were friendly, but there was a noticeable lack of follow-up—no one checked if we needed anything else or asked how our meal was going. The place wasn’t busy, and we only interacted with the staff three times: when they served the food, gave us the bill, and packed up the leftovers. Overall, it was an okay experience—great food, relaxing ambiance, but service could be improved with better...
