The cost of the room was less than 20.00 dollars US. The food was tasty and filling. The room was clean and a breeze kept us cool at night. Every morning we awoke to a great view of the sunrise over the ocean. The resort is an excellent place for birding in the morning. A five minute walk took us to the beach where we could rent a kayak, take parasailing lessons, book boat tours, or just hang out. ||||Michael the owner makes great bread and pizza. His cooking is a mix of Italian and Filipino styles that is very palatable for westerners. He keeps the place clean and has a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding area. He can guide you to hidden beaches as well as on hikes up the near-by mountain. He also knows his plants and can explain the local system of agriculture as well as much of the local history. If you like birding this may be the best place to stay in Palawan. The hotel is a hot spot for birds and Michael has a wealth of knowledge of the local bird life. (On our mountain climbing adventure we saw the Filipino Eagle!!!). ||||Before staying there you must understand what you are getting. The beds have netting but the rooms either have a hanging cloth for a door or a rather flimsy bamboo door with no lock. The beds are big enough for two people but the beds are hard. There is one bathroom and the shower consists of a bucket and a cup (The water is cold). Their is no daily maid service and you need to tell Michael when you plan to get up so he can make you breakfast. He cooks the food fresh, so expect to wait a while to be served (it is worth the wait). Having said this, the location is great and the price is fantastic and Michael is an attentive and friendly host. He treats his guests as family and although he lacks hotel experience, he makes up for it in...

Read moreI stayed here back in 2019 and it was without a doubt the highlight of my trip to the Philippines. If you’re ever in El Nido be sure to hit up the bro Micheal at Vue Grande! He’s an absolutle legend and he built these houses himself and rents them out to help him fund a forest that he is currently planting! Once the trees in his forest are big enough he plans to build heaps of tree house accomodation so that he can further expand his forest! Seriously how cool is that? Micheals place has heaps of hammocks, 2 dogs and 3 kittens (all named Mu) a beautiful family community and one of the best views in all of Palawan! Michael cooked us an epic feed and then just as we were about to goto bed he asked if we wanted to come meet his family and we said yes and ended up dancing all night with his extended family. I feel so blessed to have been able to experience this place, I will 100% be coming back here!
Also after I went to leave I rode away for half an hour and then my motorbike tyre popped on a pot hole, someone drove past that recognised me from the night before and took me back to Michaels and he helped me to get it fixed. He is a good man! I hope one day I can visit again! Thank...
