Mr. Cupcake Diner — Restaurant in Guagua

I visited Mr. Cupcake on December 26, 2016 with my cousin, our friend and friend's child. It was pouring that afternoon with the parking lot and diner looking like a ghost town. When we stepped foot into the diner and waited for our server, more patrons arrived.

There's a flat screen TV that shows highlights of the Mr. Cupcake brand and how the founder first started the restaurant. I knew I saw the video before on Rated K.

When our waitress handed us the menus, I noticed the gargantuan burger, but didn't have the stomach to order it. Instead, I opted for the Fettucine Alfredo pasta. My cousin ordered pasta with red sauce and our companions ordered a burger meal. All four of us shared a large bowl of nachos as well.

Overall, taste was ok. I had a sample of my friend's burger and it was deliciously greasy. My fettucine was oily and the side of garlic bread was difficult to bite into. The bread wasn't savory like I expected; instead, it was sweet with a dollop of a sweet mayo sauce. My taste buds were very confused about the sweet mayo.

In terms of service, there were three tables occupied and two waitresses, but the waitresses seemed like they didn't want to be there. At all. I mean, it was after Christmas Day, but if you gotta go to work, you gotta go to work.

Would I come back here again? Probably not. Would I recommend it to a friend? Sure, so they...

if youre dining alone, you get the "single dining" menu. kind of spare. they had really promising steak meals on it but i didnt fo with a steak this day. the menu that was offered is much different than what is shown on fb. there are no sandwiches;the steak sandwhich is what i wanted and why i wanted to give the place a try in the first place but it wasnt on the menu. instead settled for a cheeseburger. it was ok. it came with a side order of fries, which was litterally no more than 8 or 9 fries. and they were the skinny shoestrings fries no less. disappointing .

the resto itself was ok. cute 50's vibe. i was the only one dining there and it was lunch time. not a good sign. i hope they are very busy for dinner rush.

i would recommend to try this place at least once but not sure if i would ever give it another visit. maybe for a steak meal just to satisfy my curiosity with little...

Buffet at 495 includes unli TBone and Porterhouse. Unfortunately, steaks are not good- it was "malabsa" the way they cooked it.... Why I rated this good enough was the fact that we were surprised at the SMOKE BABY BACK RIBS, THE BEEF BRISKET AND THE BEEF WITH BROCCOLI, and not to mention the tasty Penne Bolognese Pasta and £made from scratch Mashed Potatoes with skin on (its the way I prefer. At the price though, iced tea unli perhaps as this costs centavos per serving only. Kudos to the friendly and very attentive staff.... Will come back, yeah naman if i am craving for baby back ribs with mashed potatoes!!! Oh, and by the way, even if its bottled, thanks for having saurkraut...
