Came in with a party of four, and were able to order right away, but it took quite a while for our food to come out. Better to make a reservation before hand as customers who came in later than us got served their food right away, compared to walk in guests. They remedy this by giving you little bread bites, but the wait was still over an hour or so.
Ordered croquettes as a starter, chicken tinola, pork sinigang, beef bourguignon, and a chicken musahab for mains, with a side of cajun potato wedges and ravioli. Lemon meringue, and orange crème brûlée for dessert.
Orders came out in a staggered fashion. The croquettes came out first, which at first appeared to be crispy, but one bite into them and they were freezer cold, we sent them back and it came back much later into our meal.
Next came the tinola and sinigang, which were probably the best dishes of the day. Very home style and full of flavor. No complaints here.
Next the bourguignon, which should have had tender pieces of beef, but they were not pull apart tender. In fact some of them were very tough and chewy unfortunately.
Next the ravioli came out, the pasta mouth feel was Al dente, which was just fine for me, but my friend who ate it would have liked it a little more cooked and softer. The fillings for each ravioli was also inconsistent, only two pieces had full fillings, whereas the rest only had very little.
Later on they let us know that the Cajun potato wedges were unavailable, so they replaced them with fries, which we didn’t want by the way.
And now the chicken musahab, was the last thing we were waiting for, and unfortunately despite clearly ordering it, our server did not take it or write it down. So this dish did not come at all, which is such a shame, since we were looking forward to trying new dishes.
Lastly the lemon meringue and orange crème brûlée were alright.
Overall the food was pretty mid. Service was slow, but they did their best to...
Read moreUp north, heading towards Pagudpud road or whatever road they call that, there is this restaurant outside of the Laoag City.
Food: Average food. The sisig was alright but the pig meat was tough. Not very good in terms of texture but it taste alright to say. If texture was 5/10 then tast is 6/10.
Service: Nice enough for me to not complain. They service was good and standard for middle-class restaurants. It was a bit slow but I didn't mind it much and that there was a lot of waitress but lack experience. At least from what my experience was.
Atmosphere: The place for dining was large but they were pack full of people. It was loud though, since there was a birthday at that time and very packed. It is nice to bring a large portion of your family here and have a family dinner. So much so that I see a couple big families all dining in one large and long table.
Conclusion: Although it should had been 4/5 seen from what I wrote, I don't see it as more as 4/5. I can say that it is 4/5 on a good day, but the food was average and it wasn't the greatest I had eaten even at a lower price point. There are better restaurant and competition that competes beyond its value compared...
Read moreRestaurant: The place is cool and cozy, the outside looks great from a distance and the wooden interiors are slightly giving off a cabin-vibe. The visible kitchen as well makes it look professional. The ground staff, on the other hand, were fast and attentive but they need to always wear masks since they are serving food.
Food waiting time is decent. Menu is surprisingly cheaper than counterparts in the province and it shows - Quattro Formaggio Pizza was soggy in the middle and too hard on the outside crust, the Bleu Chicken Wings don't taste like they have Bleu cheese, and the pasta looked good, but didn't taste as good and needed to ask for more pepper.
Café: Personally, cafés should be playing mild jazz or classical music. The kind of music affects how you drink your coffee and how the ambiance is set. They should play more of those in this café to coincide with the amazing architecture and design inside.
The latté was severely overmilked - I couldn't even taste a hint of coffee in it. Besides that, the pastries were good, most esp....
