Apareja Buko Halo-Halo set the trend that was followed by its neighbors. It is the most popular stall in the strip of refreshment stores along the National Highway in Brgy. Saravia in the City of Koronadal, South Cotabato, Philippines. Thanks to social media, Apareja has become a part of the bucketlist of most travellers to this part of the country.
Buko Halo-Halo is a popular Filipino refreshment which is mixture of sweetened fruits, ranging from 4 or 5 choices to as many as 12 different ingredients. These fruits are mixed with milk and shaved ice. Halo-halo literally translates as "mix-mix" because for one to enjoy eating, he has to mix all the ingredients.
To make it more special, all these sweetened fruits are served in a young coconut shell with its tender meat. On top of the heap is a scoop of ice cream.

Read moreMy godfather who is a local based in GSC brought me here for merienda and istg, the halo-halo (albeit a lil pricey) is so good, the Ube ice cream that they put sorta tastes like Dan Eric's ube ice cream (which is one of my fav local brands) the toppings are generous too and i think they add coconut milk aside evap on their halo-halo.
plus points sila bec nothing goes to waste! the buko juice from the halo-halo will be served to your table as refreshments 🤣

Read moreA destination of its own, this buko halo spot is a place for relaxation and fulfilling that halo-halo craving. With nature as its backdrop, it's very chill. The buko halo itself is super good. Made with young coconut as a vessel, it's filled to the brim with halo-halo ingredients. What sets it apart from the competition is that it doesn't just use out of the bottle ingredients. They make their own sweetened banana, kamote, and langka. They put heart in their creation, topped with that compulsory ube ice cream and leche flan. Going to that young coconut as a vessel, once you're done with the halo-halo, you can scrape off coconut meat, so good. Oh, and they have pitchers of buko juice for free. You're really getting your...
