We recently visited your restaurant in La Union and wanted to share a bit of feedback from our experience as first-time guests.
It was a very hot day, and as we arrived, I went ahead to find a seat while my husband followed shortly after with buko juice he had bought nearby. We were unaware of the “no outside food or drinks” policy, which we only noticed once we were already seated. As soon as I saw the sign, I informed my husband, and we were later approached by a member of your staff who kindly reminded us of the rule.
We completely understand and respect house policies, especially regarding outside food and beverages. My husband even offered to pay a service charge for the drinks or any possible alternative, but unfortunately, there were no options, so he chose to discard them out of respect for your rules.
While we appreciate the professionalism of your staff, we do hope for a bit more flexibility or empathy, especially for first-time guests. A kind suggestion — perhaps allowing guests to finish their drinks quickly outside, or offering to hold them — could help situations like this feel a little warmer, especially with your beautiful “Choose Kindness or Dine Somewhere Else” signage that we admired.
We would also like to suggest placing the “No Outside Food or Drinks” sign at the entrance or gate area, so guests can be fully informed before stepping into the restaurant and placing any orders.
Please take this message as respectful and constructive feedback. We really want to see your great food and atmosphere matched with equally memorable hospitality. Wishing you continued success and many happy...
Read moreLola Mending's Cafe earns a three-star rating, reflecting a mix of positives and areas to work on. While the cafe's cozy atmosphere and inviting ambiance create a pleasant environment, the dining experience fell short in terms of the food served.
The Beef Tapa, a traditional Filipino dish, arrived cold, which was disappointing as it affected the taste and enjoyment of the meal. A warm serving would have made a big difference in enhancing the flavor and texture of the dish. Additionally, the Spanish Latte, known as Kape Ni Lola, didn't quite hit the mark in terms of flavor. It lacked the special taste that one might expect from a unique coffee blend, making it just average in taste.
Despite these culinary setbacks, Lola Mending's Cafe has its strengths. The cozy setting and nostalgic decor create a welcoming atmosphere that invites guests to linger and enjoy the company of friends or simply unwind with a cup of coffee. The rustic charm of the cafe adds to its appeal, making it a charming spot to visit.
Overall, while Lola Mending's Cafe has room for improvement in terms of food quality, its inviting ambiance and cozy atmosphere offer potential for an enjoyable dining experience. With some adjustments and attention to detail, the cafe could enhance its offerings and provide a more satisfying experience for...
Read moreLola Mending offers a cozy, inviting atmosphere with a homely vibe that makes you feel right at ease as soon as you walk in. The ambiance is warm and pleasant, and the cool air of the seating area made for a relaxing al fresco dining experience. Plus, despite being semi-outdoors, there were no bugs — a nice touch that ensured a comfortable meal.
The food was good — fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The service was another standout; the staff was very accommodating, and the food arrived quickly, which is always appreciated when you're hungry.
However, there were a few downsides. While the restroom was relatively clean, the one for women was out of service during my visit, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, there were no tissues or bidet available, which detracted from the overall experience.
Overall, Lola Mending offers a solid dining experience with friendly service and tasty food, all set in a cozy environment. Despite a few restroom-related shortcomings, it’s definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a relaxed spot to...
