If you are after a posh, swanky, and/or pampered dining experience, you are better off searching for a hotel restaurant. If, however, you are looking to enjoy great food while having the closest view of Laguna de Bay, this is the PERFECT SPOT.
This classic, open-air restaurant that overlooks one of the most popular lakes in the country is a real, literal hidden gem (one can neither see the place nor find signs until you are at the parking area, but one can refer to Google Maps and ask locals). It is reminiscent of seaside establishments of the 80's and 90's; in fact, this was used as a setting for one of FPJ's films at the height of his career. Offerings are a rustic yet are guaranteed to be memorable - fresh seafood and tasty, well-seasoned meat options presented in boodle fight-type wooden dishes, and refreshing drinks (the coffee is amazing: strong, full-bodied with very little bitterness; the best I've had in years, and much better than popular chain coffee shops) at ridiculously low prices.
The service is top-notch. One must not expect hotel-type service, but more of the warmth and hospitality of country-side homes. Other added perks include being a pet-friendly restaurant, and the fresh, light breeze that won't die down.
Needless to say, this will be a regular stopover for my family and is highly recommended to everyone else who...
Read moreThis restaurant probably has the best view of Laguna Lake compared to others. Makes sense since it's built right on top of the lake.
Upon entering, one immediately senses the historical significance and the passage of time. The aged floorboards emit a gentle creak, and the walls proudly display photographs dating back to the 1980s.
Unfortunately, I was under the impression that the restaurant was called Dalampasigan, but the menu actually indicates that it is Pepito's, a newly opened establishment. Perhaps this change has had an impact on the quality of the food. We decided to try the fried platter, which was quite expensive compared to other places nearby. However, the taste was not worth the price at all. It seemed like the cooking oil had been overused multiple times. The only good thing that was served was the soup.
I will definitely give the place another shot in the future because they offer such a unique ambiance. And with any luck, by then, the food will...

Reply to owner: We visited the place a year ago, and that was our first time to have been in the area, we are from the north & we were excited to try your restaurant. We did use google map(that's also the reason why I got prompted by Google to do this review since we went there using Google map) and we even called you, whoever staff that answered our call was not even helpful. Dont take this as hate comment, take it positively to improve. You may have improved now thats why people were able to find you now, or they were locals familiar in the area, but not in our case a year ago. I was surprised you just replied after a year I posted the...
