LOCATION AND AMBIENCE If you are heading to Talao-Talao from Dalahican, there is a toll near the port collecting P18.00 (P36.00 roundtrip). We skipped entry by accident, getting innocently lost and consequently taking the extremely tight road where several residents stay. Still paying P36.00 on our way back was no biggie since it's more efficient to take the wider road.

Getting closer to the seafood restaurant, we almost went the wrong way due to the pin location. But following the tiny Anncent directional signs helped us arrive with ease. This means you should take a right when the road splits. Road was a bit tight but any typical vehicle should fit. You may need to take turns taking the small road if congested.

Once parked, you can find the room with the aquariums to see the catches of the day. Their selection was quite nice since they had choices like eel, crab, and the impressive sea mantis. Lapu-lapu was the only fish. (or maybe that's really the restaurant's only fish)

By our table, we had electric fans near the seats, ocean waves to help us feel relaxed, and a small area behind our kubo to place our things. It was a pretty laidback experience since we were the only customers.

FOOD Based on quality, flavor, and presentation, I would label their food as fairly-priced and world-class! Shrimps were garlicky, buttery, and crunchy. We actually ate the entire body of each shrimp since their staff shared that some customers also ate the head. Liempo was no frills and nicely-decorated in a circle of cucumbers and tomatoes. Eel was all curled up and sliced every few centimeters, smothered with sauce. Thin bones presented a fair challenge. Crab was equally amazing! As long as the recipe is Singaporean as mentioned in the menu, I can vouch that it's super tasty!

Because everything was highly impressive, I just had to have extra white rice and say "Hello!" to softdrinks once again!

SERVICE Service was as impressive as food! Mona and Lisa were very informative about the restaurant. Mona took care of our table needs while Lisa recommended the sea mantis.

Anncent Seafood is our go-to for fine fresh seafood prepared by a Hongkong Chef in Lucena City. This is a short walk from my brother-in-law's Tree House and Pickleball court in Talao-talao.

Anncent has a checkered past when their hotel was closed due to its construction that apparently did not comply with government restrictions on distance from the water. Their structure was "dangerously near" the shoreline.

Before, the restaurant was composed of several huts with a seaview. Now they have put up a bigger roofed area to serve their fine seafood.

Food - 5*, you can't go wrong with seafood prepared by a veteran Hongkong Chef. Moreso, if he cooks with live catch.

It is interesting to note that Chinese restaurants pride themselves with fresh, live seafood. They could charge exponentially higher because of the freshness, quality and taste. But, they have to assure that their inventory stays "alive." If their fish dies in the tank or aquarium, they are turned to fillet which is just a fraction of what they could have made with a fresh, live fish.

We ordered some of their bestsellers, the Salted Egg Calamares (₱570, medium), Spareribs Chuyem (₱550, medium), Geoduck XO (₱600), Pancit Bihon (₱450, medium), plain rice and a couple of Cokes.

Standouts for me were the Calamares and the Geoduck. Fresh, clean tasting and absolutely delicious.

Service - 5*, service was fast, efficient and very cordial

Atmosphere - 4*, the type of structure that does not look permanent and could easily be disassembled if they again face a problem with the authorities because distance to shoreline is still very narrow.

Parking - 3*, tight spaces but could accommodate a good...

Look at my photos, the beach beside this resort / restaurant is lovely specially at sunset. During our visit, the place is under construction. Guests are temporarily accommodated on a number of kubos (nipa hut). According to the hospitable staffs, the future building will now have hotel rooms.

As for the food, their seafoods are fresh. We ordered scallops, shrimp, pansit and more. They are all tasteful and of ample amount of serving. The vinegar they use is commendable.

I hope to visit again someday after the construction is finished. For now, you can visit but don't...

Hands down the best chinese style seafood in the Philippines! From quality to flavor, I would put up money if there is another place here who can compete. I have been coming here quite awhile now and what started as a little hut turned into a beautiful hotel and the quality of food is as good as I can remember. This is a spot that is a if you know, you know type thing.
