Bembi’s Kitchen is a Hidden Gem in Magalang! 🌟🍷🍽
I went here with my partner for their Wine and Food Pairing Night, a 6-course tasting menu with wine pairing for only ₱2,500 per head. Honestly, given the secluded location in Magalang, Pampanga, no parking, and the intimate space (where you might be seated with strangers), I wasn’t expecting much. But oh wow… was I wrong.
From the very start, I was blown away. The evening opened with a beautiful grazing table and sparkling wine paired with fresh oysters, simple yet elegant. Each course after that was paired with unique wines you wouldn’t easily find in the Philippines.
Seafood Course: Thai coconut curry shrimp soup with house-baked sourdough. The pairing wine cleansed the palate so perfectly that every sip and bite felt new. Grabe. Kakaiba.
Poultry Course: Roasted duck caramelized with orange. Tender, flavorful, and surprisingly harmonious. Duck + orange + wine = Perfection.
Pork Course: Pork barbecue ribs with hummus — yes, hummus! — paired with wine. It worked so well I’d trust this chef with any combination.
Beef Course: Smoked beef brisket (smoked for 15 hours!) with grilled tomato, basil, and chimichurri. The brisket was like butter — melt-in-your-mouth softness. This dish alone was worth the ₱2,500.
Dessert: Pear-based finale. I’m not even a pear fan, but I loved it. Light, unique, and the perfect ending.
Throughout the night, each wine pairing was explained — so we didn’t just eat and drink, we learned. By the end, I probably had the equivalent of more than half a bottle of wine, spread across different flavors and styles.
And here’s the unexpected part — as an introvert, I was hesitant about sharing a table with strangers. But by the end of the night, it felt like we had known each other for years.

The place is cozy , the owner and the chef is so friendly and accomodating, a friend of ours recommended this place while we visiting the coffee shops since it was crowded we changed our plans to come here, and it was not a regret..
Highly recommended to my friends and family, especially who loves pasta, wines and burgers.

This was our second visit, and once again the food was absolutely outstanding and very reasonably priced. The highlight for me was the burger—honestly the best I’ve ever had in my life. Dennis grinds imported US beef fresh daily, which makes it safe and delicious to order medium or medium well. The homemade bun is perfect (their kitchen used to be a bakery, so the bread is on another level), and every topping is fresh and flavorful—from farm-picked lettuce and tomato to jalapeños, pickles, cheddar, cream cheese, and even the option to add an egg on top. It’s half a pound of pure perfection.
We also tried the mango-flavored chicken wings, which had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy—absolutely fantastic.
On top of that, they host exclusive food and wine pairings once a month, which we’re really looking forward to attending next week.
Bembi’s Kitchen is about 30 minutes outside of Angeles City and is well worth the trip. A very special place that I can’t recommend...
