We visited Fredâs Cafe around 9 PM on a Friday night(07/25/2025). The place was a bit crowded, which I totally understandâafter being stuck at home because of the continuous rain, people were probably eager to go out and unwind. It had a lively atmosphere, but there were a few things that stood out during our visitâsome good, some that could use improvement.
One thing that surprised me was the lack of a POS system. With the volume of customers, I expected something a bit more efficient than a calculator and a handwritten receipt. It seemed a bit outdated for a place that draws in such a crowd.
The music was another pointâit was too loud, making it hard to talk to each other. We had to request to lower the volume just so we could have a conversation.
As for our order, we got 3 drinks, grilled cheese, honey mustard chicken, poutine fries, and chicken wings. Food was okay overallânot bad, but nothing particularly memorable. The grilled cheese tasted a bit sweet, which was unexpected. The sauce on the wings didnât quite complement the chickenâit reminded me more of a lumpiang sariwa sauce, and there wasnât much of it to begin with.
We also had a minor issue when we tried to order an extra serving of fries. The assistant manager wasnât able to clearly explain the price difference, which led to a bit of confusion. Fortunately, the cashierâwho was also the manager on dutyâwas able to clarify everything calmly and properly.
POV: Iâm not a food expertâthis review is purely based on personal experience. My intention isnât to criticize harshly but to share honest thoughts. I believe feedback is a gift. Whether itâs positive or constructive, itâs a chance to grow. Fredâs has potentialâkeep going, keep improving, and keep striving...

Chicken was dry and tough (kinda cooked way before I ordered it). Free internet if you ask them for the access. Really disappointing that itâs not a pet friendly cafe.
Update: Small dogs can now come in the store as long as they are in a leash and wearing a diaper.
It's a hit and miss with my visits with them. There are times when service is okay and there are visits which oftentimes happen when they can make your blood boil.
They only accept cash payments but never issue a receipt unless you ask for one. And NEVER EVER PAY IN CENTS EVEN JUST TO MAKE UP FOR 1 PESO. THEY WILL TELL YOU IT IS NO LONGER CIRCULATED AND NOT ACCEPTED AT BANKS. That happened to me twice. Sarap ireport sa DTI and BIR.
Place can get a bit noisy if there are large crowds since they do not have any other furniture that can absorb the sounds. I am amazed at people getting work done here. Food got...
Read moreWe went to Fred's on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. Kinda like a Starbucks vibe in terms of the look, but quite noisy with Fred's music and lots of customers watching videos or talking loudly on their speaker phones. The food, while maybe not "exceptional", was quite good for a cafe. Nice menu choices and the service was great. The cashier was running the show, pointing out to the runners where each order was delivered. Never asked for names to call out.... the food just appeared. Ice water in glasses came automatically without us even asking. Servers were super polite and friendly. Almost any of them could work at a full service restaurant and do well. The only quirky thing... Why are they cash only? Not only inconvenient but, to me, a bit shady. It's not like their prices couldn't absorb the 3% CC fee. Will I go back? Yes. Because the staff made it a pleasant...
