J&A Fishpen — Restaurant in Mahinog

One of the best restaurants in the island. the seafood here are sooooo goooooood, in a serious note; I like there menu and the concept, my only concern is the service is kind of lacking, I'm not criticizing that they have a bad service it's just that they have a small staff and due to that fact they tend to not notice customers further orders and request. but overall the food here is very very very delicious ( and yes 3 very's). Try it yourself you'll understand why.

We dined here for lunch. The grilled molmol fish was EXCELLENT — very fresh and huge! We really enjoyed it! But aside from the great seafood, the other thing that made our dining remarkable was the impeccable service from Banik. Banik was very hardworking, friendly, and funny. He stood out amongst all other staff. I hope the owner reads this review — I will tell you that Banik deserves to be recognized as a cut above the rest who really loves what he does and knows the true meaning of hospitality. We had a party of nine and went to J&A Fishpen. The location is wonderful and outdoorsy, but many of us were not impressed with the food and the service of the place. The food was average, and though they tell you the serving size is 2-3 people, it is more of "2" and not "3" What surprised us the most was the service is exceptionally poor! The waiter forgot to serve us three of our viands (dishes that included a key soup that we kept waiting for), until we reminded him at the very end of the lunch!! To boot we had a 10% service charge! I will definitely not return...
