WESTERN HIGHWAY LODGE HOTEL — Restaurant in Marabut

I only have one complaint about this place on their website. They have three phone numbers listed and they don’t answer any of them. They do answer emails, but not on a timely basis like most Americans like myself need.

I’ll explain why it was a Friday afternoon and I wanted to get a room here on the tropical garden island of small in the Philippines 🇵🇭 I did not want to be shut out on a Friday afternoon cause maybe people come in from other islands to stay here and in my budget was this beautiful place.

I did finally get confirmation from Colin and a couple hours later my friend drove me here where I met Mary and she showed me to my room. it’s small but perfect for a single person and they do have AC, cable TV and Wi-Fi out in the dining room.

After checking in, I took a 10 minute stroll down to a little barangay, and I found a Hidden treat a cave where I watch the sun melt into the water, absolutely beautiful, but Mike many places here in the Philippines people do not know how to take care of their own environment and that’s very sad. It’s very dirty and trash everywhere but I did find some pretty pictures.

I had 2 San Miguel beers to ease my pain from walking 10 miles that day and this place is worth it.

They’re very nice here it’s very quiet and very affordable and it may not be ritzy like Trump Tower, or the Waldorf Astoria back in New York City but who cares this place is great I...

Mattress so old springs poking though, covered with a mattress topper that slid around and didn't stay in place and was bumpy.....room was nice and clean and spacious, but bed was so bad it ruined it... couldn't get a decent night sleep.....anxious to leave.....NO WIFI IN ROOM, and they say it's available in lobby, but when we went to use it in lobby they said owner was gone so not available......mirrors so low you have to be 5 ft. to look at yourself....shower and toilet share same room, small bathroom so your sloshing in water while using toilet or brushing teeth....bar on roof top, better check with them before booking make sure it's not too busy or will be loud as you can clearly hear music inside room and starts thumping in the morning. ...stay in tacloban and spend 200 per person day use across the street at fancy resort....I know it's cheap here, but for me, not worth it to be...
