Cibus Rusticus — Restaurant in Nagcarlan

As Douglas Adams once stated and we quote, "To give real service, you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity". A 26 year old man named Homer Jay Castelo, manages a family owned business which is appellated as Cibus Rusticus- a Latin word which means "rustic food". At first, he didn't expect that he will venture into a food business because he finished a not so related course. Suddenly he realized that it is not really what he wants to do because cooking and baking is his passion. He came up with a restaurant in order to be unique and he thinks that business has less competitors compared to other businesses. Cibus Rusticus started operating on the 16th day of March 2017. It does not only offer a restaurant but also a bar. They offer catering services, and events such as Girls Night-Out, Gays Night-Out, Boys Night-Out, Beer Pong Fest, Karaoke Night and more. The restaurant's interior design was inspired by the owner's love for antiques and wood looking items. It is located at Nagcarlan, Laguna and the owner is hoping to have more branches outside the said town.

"Food is our common ground, a universal experience." The menu has so much variety to choose from. The food is unique and has a touch of foreign twist. It could be italian, mexican and even filipino dishes. These varieties depend on the seasons and occasions. This technique was brainstormed by the owner himself. The presentation of the the food was captivating not just to the eyes of the customers but also to the tastebuds. In terms of appetizers, the best sellers would be the Spicy Buffalo Wings and the Cheesy Bacon Croquette, Cibus Mushroom Burger for the Burger Section, Seafood Marinara and Queso Grande for the pasta, for the fushion meal it would be Mexican Cornedbeef Burrito and lastly, Salmon and Bagnet for the special meals. Entering the restaurant you will instantly feel comfortable and relaxed because of the homey vibe. The owner aims for the customers to feel at home and they achieved it. When it comes to ambiance, customers will definitely like its cozy atmosphere that will render them to relaxation. Cibus Rusticus owner's plan for its interior design was put into a reality with a rustic look. The service crews as well as the owner were very accomodating, friendly and approachable to all of their customers. They treat their customers right and with ease. In terms of hiring the staffs, the owner looks at their attitude most. The prices are reasonable but in a student's point of view it is quite pricey than the normal go-to places. The prices of the food and drinks ranges from Php 85 amd above. Cibus Rusticus' cleanliness adds to the customer's appetite because he or she won't doubt if his or her food are clean or not. They always make sure that everything is neat and tidy, from the floor, to the table and even the utensils. In terms of location, Cibus Rusticus is very accesible because it is located in the town proper.
