I found this restaurant nice before and would bring my boyfriend here when he visited from Tucson, my family ate here, when I had friends from other places come visit, I bring them to your restaurant. There wasn't a lot of people who came today and I wanted to enjoy the sunset with my friend. The vibe from the start with the waitress that handled us was not nice at all but i was too distracted taking sunset photos. When I asked for the bill I gave my P1000 together with my pwd, when she came back she was smiling and gave me P80. I asked for the receipt. Then she asked " in what name will I put on the receipt?" I gave her my pwd again. She took a long time to come back so we went to the cashier. The waitress was there together with another lady who was counting how much change I should get and it was P125.71. Is this how you give the change now!? You'll hide a certain amount and if I didn't come I wouldn't have known? Are you that hard up for a tip that you would steal money instead of the customer giving the tip? Or was it especially for us because the waitress looked us up and down and assumed we were poor? The lady with the glasses even said the just counted it... I told her straight " I gave my pwd together with the P1000. So meaning that waitress didn't give the PWD and she did it all by herself? I wanted to celebrate today. I chose the wrong Restaurant to celebrate in. Thank you na lang Melken's won't be coming back.
Oh, BTW, I have a heart condition, asthma and depression. Thank you for making my last experience with...
Read morePretty big place and cool spot to dine. Clean, organized and the staff are quite helpful and attentive. The only thing that could have made it better is the water surrounding the restaurant. When you walk in, you can see tons of garbage floating around. Which is a shame, because as a seafood restaurant, they should take better care of their surroundings. I know a lot of thing get washed up ashore but it doesn't help if the people living there just throw trash into the water. The other thing is the parking situation. Since it's on a very narrow road with not much land on either side, parking comes at a premium. So be aware, especially on weekends.
Portions are decent but it could easily rack up. The food was fresh and cooked tonorder so be ready to wait. The staff does tell you that it would be ready in 15 to 20 min, depending on what you've ordered. I dont mind because then I know my food will be delicious and fresh. Pretty good flavours, although, we found it to be on the saltier side.
They can accommodate big groups and we prefer the tables further in due to the breeze coming through. They do have plenty of fans if you need it.
Overall, not a bad place...
Read moreThis place was a bit of a journey, down a road that must be made slowly & with caution... But well worth it!! When walking in we were greeted by so many smiles & hello it felt like we had been there many times before (it was our first). Our server was nice & prepared everything for our party to arrive. I asked him " what is good?" His reply "everything" as he walked away I thought "sure it is"... We ordered oysters to start, fresh from the water & delicious, grilled stuffed squid, buttered squid, calamari, buttered shrimp, mixed seafood & more... The waiter was exactly correct... Everything was beyond delicious & prepared to perfection. Not one bite was I ever disappointed & ate way too much since I could not stop. Our waiter (Rauel I think) never missed a thing & made sure our service was 5 star. I can not say enough good things about this place & no matter where you are in Negros Occidental it is worth the drive. Please take as many people as possible as sharing at this place gives you the opportunity to taste as many things as possible.
I can not wait to return just to look out into the water & eat way...
