Where do you go when you are on the island of Mindoro and you suddenly get a craving for authentic Japanese food? Kazoku in the little town of Pinamalayan of all places! I come from Vancouver BC, Canada where we have hundreds of Japanese places to choose from. I'm a guy who really enjoys his sushi and when I moved to Mindoro I figured I would have to give it up, but surprise! Kazoku is a little gem that I've visited several times since moving here. When I say authentic, I mean it! They use real Japanese sushi rice, unlike one place I tried in Manila that used regular rice. Their wasabi brings tears to my eyes and a blast to my sinuses as good wasabi should. I've noticed many ethnic restaurants will modify their recipes to appeal more to the Filipino palate. This is so wrong! Kazoko does not follow this practice. Their dishes taste every bit as good as the Japanese restaurants I've eaten in back home.Their servings are generous and their prices are reasonable considering the distance the ingredients they use have to travel. Top all this off with first class service that is fast and friendly and you have a winning combination that the good people of Pinamalayan should be proud to call their own. Domo arigato Kazoku!

The Halo2 is comparable to the ones they offer at Razon’s and Kuya J’s but definitely can hold its own. Refreshing and delicious. Creamy. Won’t hurt if they can add more ingredients and even if they increase the price I and others would not mind paying. Worth every bite and sip! Also ordered the Spaghetti Arrabiatta. Excellent dish. Al dente noodles. Sour, Italian sauce which I liked. However I would suggest them using chili flakes instead of putting shreds of actual chili so that the spiciness doesn’t overwhelm the whole dish.

The food is affordable and delicious. The place is aesthetically designed. I love the Japanese ambiance. The crew were kind and accommodating. However the parking area is quite small.

We went here for dessert, and we were surprised that the mais con hielo and buko pandan were at ₱99 while the halo-halo was at ₱109 ONLY because we were shocked at how big the servings were when they arrived.

There's ample space for parking considering the small size of the resto. It's also situated in an area where the roads are really narrow, so best to bring vehicles that...
