We were skeptical when we saw a "reel" of their restaurant when we saw a spring roll featuring "fake crab" meat. Considering not much to eat on in Puerto gallera on the creative side, we decided to try. Not so good pad Thai and pad se ew idk maybe it's my thailand exposure that has caused me to be critical. They offered chicken or shrimp pad thai, and i selected the shrimp. The dish came with "4 non peeled shrimp" laying next to the pad yhai noodles, with pad Thai is just not right . With shrimp pad thai, the "shrimp" is supposed to be dried and fresh shrimp added to the noodles. I don't like to get all messed up eating pad Thai by peeling shrimp. What would the chicken pad thai be like? A thigh or breast next to the noodles?
I understand, It's like pasta. Everyone makes it different. So, if you liked it, fine. But I didn't, I'm no doctor, but my stomach wasn't up to par afterward. and my wife did not care for her food either.
Parking basically doesn't exist. Good luck finding a spot, and the less than appetizing walk to the restaurant was something left to be desired.
The barking dogs inside the restaurant upon entering made us think twice about getting a table. Dogs inside a restaurant? dogs in the table area is not the definition of sanitized. We did proceed to a table, which we did after the dogs were let out to the beach. What's the added benefit of dogs in restaurants?
Also, no A.C. pretty humid that night.
The prices seemed high for what was offered. Example 4 shrimp spring rolls 530 for shrimp pad Thai I think was 380.
I asked my wife if she would go back, and she said nope! Me? I probably would because the choices are few in Puerto...
Read moreBoat scheduled at 3pm so popped in here for lunch. Just a short walking distance to the pier so it's perfect. Everything you read here on the reviews is spot on. The food is beyond excellent, tasty and very large servings, and the owner (Tessie) is lovely to have a chat with.
The kani mango spring rolls are filled with veggies and pairs wonderfully with the dipping sauce.
The beef curry was slow-cooked to tenderness with a perfect blend of spices.
The red chicken curry was excellent, thick sauce blended with a good amount of veggies. Eggplant, green beans, bamboo shoots - they go the extra mile and it shows.
The sweet and sour chicken reached a delicate balance between both flavors. Again, with generous portions of veggies.
Also ordered the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Both very excellent and authentic.
Hope you get a chance to try this place, it's more than worth it. Don't forget to say hi...
Read moreKusirena Cafe is a hidden gem that never fails to delight my taste buds. As a frequent visitor, I am always impressed by the quality and flavor of the food. Their Vietnamese Spring Rolls are fresh and packed with flavor, the Pad Kra Pao is perfectly spiced, and the Tom Yum Gai is a delightful burst of tangy and spicy goodness.
The Thai Milk Tea here is one of the most authentic I've tasted, with just the right balance of sweetness and creaminess. The location is convenient and adds to the overall charm of the place. The customer service is consistently excellent, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home.
Best of all, the prices are incredibly reasonable, making it easy to enjoy a delicious meal without breaking the bank. Kusirena Cafe has always been and will always be my go-to spot for a satisfying and affordable dining experience in Puerto Galera/Mindoro....
