The bakeshop is kind of small. There were lots of people when we visited. The cashiers are slow. My bf and I ordered lots of pasalubongs here mostly hopia but we also tried a couple of pastries. I personally liked the pineapple hopia its around 45php (Sept 10 2018 price). The choco crinkles are nice too but I think the brownies with mallows on top had too much vanilla. I also tried the ChocoCaramel cake slice its ok but its too sweet for me. The cashier will ask you if you are going to eat it there or if you want it to go.I said that I will eat it there but asked her to place it in a container. She did but she did not give me a fork. I had to ask for it and when she gave me one it was broken and I still had to inform her to replace it, she did. I think she is just confused and she feels rush because there were a lot of people.
When youre buying in bulk they will give you an option to buy a box (I think its about 50php) or an eco bag (I think its about 35php).
Side Note: If you are looking for tamilok (worms that lives inside the mangrove) a delicacy in palawan and cant find any. There is a small stall just infront of Bakers hill where you can buy some. Its just 150php per pouch (Price as of Sept 10 2018). I think there was around 7 worms in a pouch. You can eat it there, they have vinegar and salt if you like. If you want to eat it to go or bring it to manila they will put it in a plastic bag...
Read moreBaker’s Hill in Puerto Princesa is a delightful spot for tourists. The park features life-size statues of beloved cartoon characters like Shrek and Looney Tunes, providing fun photo opportunities for visitors of all ages. The well-maintained gardens and numerous benches create a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for relaxation.
One of the standout features is that there’s no entrance fee, making it an accessible destination for everyone. A visit to their bakeshop is a must; their pastries, especially the hopia, are renowned for their quality and taste.
During our visit, we dined at Baker’s Hill Café. The clubhouse sandwich, accompanied by crispy potato chips, was satisfying and offered good value. However, the white sauce pasta fell short of expectations and could benefit from recipe improvements. The service was a bit slow, possibly due to the café’s popularity.
We also tried the iced café mocha and Spanish latte. Unfortunately, both beverages lacked depth in flavor, with the mocha tasting more like chocolate syrup than a balanced coffee drink.
Overall, despite some culinary shortcomings and the humid weather during our visit, Baker’s Hill remains a charming destination. Its picturesque setting, free entry, and delectable pastries make it a worthwhile stop for anyone visiting...
