Pares Retiro Shorthorn Street, Project 8, QC — Restaurant in Quezon City

Am intrigued with the concept of "Pares". PARES Retiro is well-situated in this area with ample parking space. It also seemed to be popular judging by the number of cars and riders often parked there.

I finally tried their premium pares and small sizzling bone marrow; plus the Mami - we qualified to get a freebie for which we chose to have their turon de leche.

The flavor of star anise was strong in the premium pares which was ok. The bone marrow was cooked well and tasted good - that I was able to finish it. Mami was also fine and filling.

Overall, a good dining experience. Price is about P250/hd. I will go back to try other items...

"Pag di masarap, soli mo!" That is their well known tag line for the food that they serve. The main dish here is the beef pares but they also have the silog breakfast dishes. Beef pares is just ok. Just your regular beef pares. Nothing fancy or special about their beef pares. I have tasted better beef pares than pares retiro but if you're craving for one in the middle of the night, this will suffice. One last thing, it's ironic that all three of their restrooms are not working when we visited. This is a a resto! Restrooms is a must here. Like in gas stations and malls. At least have one cubicle working for...

Hindi worth it ang ibang products na kanilang in-offer. Sizzling Pares Tendon and Bone Marrow were quite okay. However, I'm disappointed with the Sizzling Lechon Kawali and Sizzling Tofu.

For 199 pesos I thought I was getting a proportionate amount of Lechon Kawali but what got to me are 2 measly pieces full of pork fat and bone. While the sizzling tofu was quite tangy for whatever reason.
