Farmers V Resto & Grill — Restaurant in Samal

We are the owners of a well know guest house in Penaplata with over 300 guests a month and always recommend our guests to V Farmers as recommended by others . Tonight we actually went there, the food is priced fairly high and targeting those who can afford it. I went to the toilet to find at first a nice toilet with flush etc apart from the very wet floor and no toilet roll, to my astonishment even though the toilet is a full system it isn't plumbed in and you still need to flush the toilet with a bucket of water and a laddel. I returned to the table and ask the waiter why their toilet doesn't flush, he looked at me blankly, I asked if the guy behind the counter on his mobile phone was the manager, he replied "yes". I went and asked him why his toilet did not flush, he gave me the hand signs of using the laddel. I tried to explain to him that for the prices they are charging and the clientele they are trying to attract ( foreigners and rich Filippinos) that a proper flush toilets should be put in place and hygiene policies should really be followed rather than trying to flush your remains down the toilet with a laddel and bucket of water.

I persisted with him and all I got from him was " I DON'T CARE", I have asked when the owners will be around so I can address this situation with them instead of getting the " I DON'T CARE" answer. I shall go and see them in the next couple of days to get an explanation and for the rudeness of their manager, a simple apology and I'll bring it up with the owners would have done, but the rude " I DON'T CARE" made my blood boil as a business owner of a tourist establishment. Most of us are here for the eelfare of the island, are you( Farmers V)?

I have also heard of a large group of foriegners meeting there on every Sunday afternoon which I have been invited to until I heard that there was a few problems for several weeks that there was no cold beers for their meeting, so we have changed venue.

Considering Famers V is rateted as a good place to go we will not be recommending any more guest there and considering our beautiful Island of Samal relies on tourism a lot Farmers V are not doing themselvesany favours.

I had to give you guys 1 star as it never gave me an option of giving you zero. Poor show guys you are supposed to be a recommended restaurant on the island, pick you game up. Shame on you. What we charge for an airconed room, you charge for 1 meal, and yes we haven't...

The locals are well aware of this place but to others it's situation is very convenient being on the road between Babak and Penaplata so if you are on a tour of the island or just passing through then this is a great place to stop. Coming from Babak just look out for the large Central Warehouse store on your left and The Farmers Resto & Grill is just a few hundred yards past it.

The main restaurant area is open sided but still very airy and cool and it serves a large variety of excellent well prepared local dishes and some Western dishes at reasonable prices. You can also just stop for a coffee, an ice cream or a beer.

There are also two air conditioned side rooms which open out via a divider into one large function suite which can hold up to fifty people. This is ideal to hire for meetings, weddings, baptisms, birthdays and any number of other special occasions.

I have always found the staff pleasant and attentive and the wash rooms are well kept and clean. There is also a limited number of soft seats and a TV to watch.

To be sure there are cheaper places to eat close by, but this has to be the best place for miles around, you will feel...

Food all good. Standard filipino menu be plus thing like battered onion rings, french fries, etc. It's one of the only restaurants in the area with parking and good seating and restrooms (if not the only one as of early 2019)

Pricing for the food is good and portions are large enough.
