Olive Restaurant — Restaurant in San Fernando

Food only looks good, but does not taste good anymore. Years ago, we used to dine here with our family. We returned, and to our surprise, the food doesn’t taste like it’s cooked by a chef. The price is so high that you’d expect quality. But sorry, no. There’s nothing to be excited about Olives anymore. 😞 To the management, pls hire a real chef if you want to charge a thousand for each meal. And if you want people to still dine here.

Other staff are courteous, but the one who served us talked to us too disrespectfully, wasn’t smiling. We took our time to choose what to order. Like more than 5mins. After she took our order, note that she was dry already, she asked, “Ilan po kayo sa mesang ‘to?” Wow… she can see us. Can’t she just confirm if it’s just us?

Note: Once you enter the area, you’ll be ask how many you are in your car if you’re not checked in. You’ll pay a thousand for each pax. This is consumable on the restau or cafe. This is ok if you’ll dine since they charge a lot for meals. Bruschetta’s imbalance in flavor is a NO. One’s too salty, one’s too bland, one’s just wet. (Idk how much) Catch of the Day wasn’t catched on that day. Tastes old. Not fresh. Dry and overcooked. (Around 700 php) Devilled chicken doesn’t have flavor on the meat. Just fried and seared on some sauce, idk. (1,000 php) Pork chop is just ok....

A restaurant at the resort with friendly and attentive staff. Location is fantastic with amazing views. Accessibility is moderate as there are plenty of elevation changes within some rooms and uneven floors. There is an elevator to enable access to lower areas and one can avail of a shuttle service in the resort to gain access. Restaurant has inside and outside seating. A buffet style offering with specialty areas to customize egg preparations. Ambience has very loud music even at 700 am and rather unpleasant. Staff was responsive to lower it down to a more pleasant background level. Some of the ready to eat food on display are lacking temperature controls and clearly on the danger zone at about 25-28C temperatures for the entire day. The sushi platter was clearly wilting and spoiling noticeably. These products should be refrigerated or on ice. Servings of bread were mouldy and staff were advised but unclear what action was taken. It is a pity that such wonderful location and attentive and friendly staff would have a food offering that is simply unacceptable...

Greece like vibes lunch, go to Olive Restaurant located inside Thunderbirds Resort in San Fernando La Union. Here you’ll find white and blue only colored buildings akin to blue and white colored houses in Greece. The food is ok, a bit dry for the Tuna or Shoulder pork I have ate, however, the fruit added complement the taste. Nice to go around. If you are visiting and walking in, the guard will ask 500 per person to go inside just for a tour. If you have bookings to the restaurant, this is waived. Call the restaurant if the guard insists on paying the entrance...
