Happy Easter. After attending the celebration of Holy Eucharist in Saint John the Baptist Parish Tiaong Quezon, we tried to have some breakfast nearby. Then suddenly it came to my mind to visit again Fern Cafe, at first, I've check in Google if it's open already as it was around 9am already. Since it says that they are open from 8am until 11pm we decided to have the breakfast at Fern Cafe. When we are at the location the waitress inside the restaurant says they are still close and it was around 930am. They said that they will open around 10am. Another lady approach as which is I believe she is one of the Supervisor, a petit lady, I told her that in Google it's say 8am, she said she will check but didn't come back to us. On the other hand, another staff approach us name Basi a Barista, he approach us and ask how they can help us, I told him that we would like to have a breakfast and showed also to Basi that Fern Cafe opens at 8am in Google but according to Basi in FB is 10am. However, I would like to thank you Basi for the action taken. He informed us that we can actually seat and wait for 10am to served the food as it was 9:45am already. This is a good gesture. With regards to the Breakfast Menu, kindly make sure that your selection is available or otherwise inform immediately the guests before taking order. I like the ambience, toilets are clean and staff are friendly. Music selection I like it but this is my first time to hear praise and worship music in a restaurant. I respect, but I guess they need to change the right selection of music. Thank you again and this is my 2nd...
Read moreThe service was alright, but the food was disappointing. It's disappointing when local restaurants try to 'refine' a dish and end up making the taste imbalanced. We wanted to enjoy a good fern salad, but we were disappointed as it came with mayo as dressing and an overload of cheese. They could have saved the dish by sticking to simple, real ingredients instead of incorporating Western elements that didn't quite fit. The kare kare was too sweet; a carinderia-style kare kare would have tasted better. My partner ordered the "Silvesan grilled fish," but it was obviously not grilled at all. I hope they take this feedback as constructive rather than negative, as I truly believe Filipino food can be served better if we set aside the Western touches. The ambiance...
Read moreI dropped by this cafe resto by the side of the road hoping that they serve something with ferns - with the name being Ferns Cafe after all. And I wasn't disappointed, their specialty is the paco salad (fern salad). It tastes familiar yet something new. The cheese topping was a pleasant addition, but could be a bit overpowering. Peanut was also a surprise, and complemented all the other flavors. I enjoyed it more when I squeezed a bit of calamansi, which I asked for as an extra.
Some more points: Good service - very attentive and accommodating personnel. Parking space for 3 cars in front with few more at the back. Clean...
