Shakey's Pizza Parlor — Restaurant in Santa Cruz

Great food, worst service ever.

We ordered ahead of time, we're taking 8 hours in advance so that we can just eat there when we arrive. They even called me 3x to confirm my reservation and my order.

Everything should be good now, right? We have booked hours ahead of time, we pre-paid for our order.

When we arrive we had to wait for 15mins to be seated even though there's lots of empty tables. We had to wait another 25 mins to get served but then they told us that they haven't prepared our food yet and we have to wait another 15mins for it to be ready. We wasted over an hour waiting for our food and when our food arrived the staff told us that we can't dine inside Shakey'd because apparently our pizza order was a "take away order" and they have a "policy". Sure, you can enforce your "policy" but your staff is the one who convinced us to order the food as "delivery" and not dine in order for it to be prepared in advance.

This is the worst service I've ever had in a restaurant. Will never go back at this branch again. I also filed a complaint on their customer service hotline.

To the Manager Pauline, I hope you treat the customers in a nicer way next time. We never insisted the dog to go inside the resto without the permission of your service staff. The rain was pouring outside and we're ok with that because we knew the rule since the beginning that dog is not allowed. Thank you to your staff whose repeatedly asking us if we are ok. I let my senior parents to go inside instead because the raindrops were pouring heavily on our dining table outside. I went inside and saw that the staff were preparing the long table for us and said that we could go inside. Dog will stay in the corner. I was surprised when you went to me with your voice heard by all the customers nearby that dog was not allowed. We NEVER INSISTED that and you could have said it in a nicer way without us being looked by other customers like we are being thrown outside when its raining heavily on...

My wife and I sat down to be served. We made up our mind and the waiter came up to us to take our order. We ordered calamari, he said" sorry sir, not avaliable. We then ordered cheese fingers, also not avaliable. We ordered fried chicken boneless, also not avaliable. We then ordered a pizza and salad. This was the most poor made pizza I have ever had and the salad, I needed a telescope to see the tomatoes. Sorry to say the manager needs to be fired poor poor work....not...
