We managed to experience every conceivable dining disaster here. If you're craving Chinese food—or any edible food, for that matter—this is absolutely not the place to part with your hard-earned cash.
Let’s start with the food (if we can call it that). The Hakaw Dimsums? Served raw. Apparently, steaming is optional here. Their so-called "Supreme Congee"? Supreme in name only—it boasts an impressive lack of both flavor and ingredients. And their Wanton Noodles? Truly a wanton disregard for taste and texture, with noodles that could double as rubber bands and meat that redefines "bland."
Moving on to the service—or lack thereof. The staff greeted us not with smiles, but with the most uninviting expressions I’ve ever seen. It was as if they were silently pleading, “Why are you even here?” A great question, in hindsight.
Finally, the cherry on top: their doors proudly proclaim they accept bank payments. How modern and convenient! Except when it came time to pay with a credit card, they informed us, “No signal.” Because why not add a little payment drama to your meal of regrets?
TL;DR: Save yourself the misery and avoid this place at all costs. The food isn’t even cheap, but if you’re in the market for overpriced stress and disappointment you’ve found your...
Read moreHap Chan specializes in Chinese cuisine, and their menu is a treasure trove of flavors, featuring everything from dim sum to sizzling platters. During my visit with friends, we couldn't resist trying their signature dumplings and delectable main dishes like the sweat & sour pork and hototay soup. The flavours were definitely present and serving generous.! We also enjoyed the soup which was both comforting and healthy. It was a good balance with the heavier dishes we ordered.
For dessert, the sesame balls stuffed with sweet red bean paste were delightful little orbs of joy—crispy on the outside and perfectly gooey within. Overall, Hap Chan not only excels in culinary execution but also provides a warm dining atmosphere that enhances the whole experience. Make sure to visit during off-peak hours to fully enjoy the...
Read moreThis is by far the longest waiting time we’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. We waited for more than an hour, only to have our food served by batch instead of all at once. We were told the serving time would be around 20–30 minutes since we ordered a lot, but even the additional Yang Chow rice we ordered took another 30 minutes and still didn’t arrive, so we had to cancel it.
This restaurant has not improved at all since day one. I remember leaving a review before about the same issue, slow service. Even with fewer customers, the waiting time is still terrible! I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.
To make things worse, the ventilation in the far area where we were seated was terrible, it was so hot and uncomfortable. We will never, ever come back to...
