We dine here when we passed by the area coming from Manila towards Bicol.
-The place is nice and clean. -The food was really good. -But it’s too expensive for our taste, -We can say this place is only for rich people.
The price of each dish say 1pc. of grilled Pusit at the size slightly smaller than a palm of a Normal Man was like P470ish. The Calderetang Kambing was like P370+ that time but it’s full of bones not so much meat but the taste is ok.
What we really like and enjoy at least to Us is the Pinangat, It’s like Ginataang-Laing and it’s about P150+ not exactly sure about the price but the total that we paid is about P1200+ as I remember. We are small family of 3.
Again, for the food it’s too expensive for our liking. But the place is nice with big tables and clean water dispensers.
Overall, the experience is just ok. We will surely not coming back here as like I said it’s expensive for Us at least to our budget.
P. S. It’s also a self...
Read moreCanteen-style lutong bahay that is sulit. We arrived peak time on a long weekend Saturday – expect the place to fill up easily and quite nosily at these times. We ordered crispy pork kare-kare, caldereta, kinilaw na kambing, and lomi, all of which were okay for their price considering their serving size (price range was about ~250 for each if I recall correctly). All of them were heated before serving, and lomi was cooked only upon ordering; it meant a waiting time but also meant that we weren't served stock serving only. Their lumpiang sariwa looked tasty. Also the sinaing the pampano. But there were only two of us and we couldn't have it all that time; will probably order next time. We were also able to take out the leftover we had.
Spoon and fork and drinking water are self-service. Bottled water is also available for the more conscious ones.
All in all highly recommended for those passing through the area going to and...
Read moreFirst time to try Batangas Lomi, grabe ang daming sahog. This bowl costs P165 (as of May 2023 visit). It’s good, but if truth be told, my palate is used to the Chinese style lomi so I feel like this one tastes a bit different and I like the taste of the Chinese style better, not to say it is not good. It still is good.
There were lots of ulam to choose from, it’s a turo turo style Filipino lutong bahay type of resto. The resto was open air no AC, there are rooms though good for 20pax where they have AC. The whole dining area was just electric fan, it was not scorching humid hot when we were there. It was not cool either. The temp in the resto was tolerable.
Lunch time on a weekday brought a lot of big groups getting lunch. Lots of parking spaces too.
Definitely a must stop when in Sto. Tomas Batangas. We came here after visiting the...
