PRO TIPS: Best to visit during breakfast, lunch and merienda. They have an Al Fresco Dining, but will really recommend for you to dine indoors since the place is really wide, cozy and relaxing. Surrounded by (real) ornamental plants matched with the sounds of nature, you can really smell the freshness and coolness in the air. By the way bring cash as payment, since their card terminals are seldom working... Parking space is not a worry!
WORTH IT BA BALIKAN? YES! Food & indoor garden ambience are pop!
Try their healthy and fresh concoctions of hot and cold drinks, they serve farm-to-table dishes such as salad greens, veggie soups, pizza, pasta and cakes. Menu offers western breakfast meals and rice set as well. We tried their Caesar Salad, Pork Belly Rice meal, Pizzanini, Carbonara pasta (since Truffle isn't available yet), Chocolate cake, Mango shake (real mango, not powder), Calamansi and Lychee Iced drink π... Just across the center isle, you'll see Andersen's Bakery where you can buy bread, pies and pastries. I love their ube & cheese muffins, try it too!!!
UNIQUE EXPERIENCE: If you loved Coffee Project and Ruined Project, you'll fall in love with this place even more! As one of the newest concept cafΓ©s in Santo Tomas (another one of #VillarCreations), this I think is one of the most chic and "real" nature-themed cafe they have (to date)...

Β Β Β Read moreI'm sad for giving Pievana 1 star, as this wasn't our first time coming here and we previously had better experience, but this time it was just horrible.
The place was packed, and its not their fault, we came here after the Sunday mass, as this was near Padre Pio. The managers should know this and be able to forecast the surge of customers, but they didn't.
The crew said that food had a 2 hour serving time...that's right, 2 hours. You should go watch a movie and your order was still not ready. I mean any business owner would not accept this. You can't blame the volume of customers why you have a 2 hour waiting period. You should have more crew ready on specific peak hours of specific days. Every manager should know this basic concept of supply and demand, but the crew of Pievana seemed like it's the first day of opening their business, and they had no clue how they were processing orders, it was all chaotic and we ended up ordering pastry that was available so we didn't have to wait.
This poor customer service could have been saved by yhe quality of their food, but sadly NO. The pastry was dry, not freshly baked, flaky when it should have been fluffy and doughy. The coffee took 30min to arrive, remember its just coffee, not even food.
The good ambience of the place can't make up for what should be essential pieces of a cafe/restaurant - good food, good service. The rest is just a bonus.
We won't be going back here any time soon, and I don't recommend it to anyone either. I'm writing this March of 2024, so maybe in a few months time we'll give it a shot and hopefully the management improves their food and service, God forbid they do, considering their menu is very pricey for the quality...
Β Β Β Read morePievana Roots Cafe is stunningly beautiful restaurant. The restaurant is located near Padre Pio Shrine. As we approached, the exterior greeted us with the sight of a small farm, cultivating fresh vegetables right outside the restaurant.
Stepping inside, I was immediately captivated by the enchanting ambiance. The interior is adorned with lush green plants hanging gracefully and arranged throughout the space. Each corner of the restaurant boasted oversized greenery.
The menu offered a diverse selection of dishes, ranging from 400 to 600 pesos. Despite the higher price range, the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. The peaceful ambiance enhanced the enjoyment of the meal, making it a memorable culinary experience worth every peso.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking delicious food while enjoying a nature like vibe.
Edit: Additional Review
This was my second visit to the restaurant, and this time I arrived for an early dinner. As I waited, I had the opportunity to explore their greenhouse, which was filled with an impressive variety of vegetables. The restaurant looked even more stunning in the broad daylight, allowing clear views of the surrounding area compared to nighttime when exterior lighting is limited. The food was excellent, but the wait time for our meals was too long, taking nearly an hour. Despite this, the overall dining experience was enjoyable, with delicious food and a captivating design, although slightly on...
