A really bad experience. As of this moment, this restaurant has been running for about a week now.

We understand that it's currently trending, so a good number of orders were unavailable, but here is where it turns really bad:

Our order got delayed so bad while orders were getting theirs ahead of us despite arriving later than us. They had similar orders than us too. Waitress doesn't know their menu or the ingredients of their menus. I asked for a certain burger, and she said that it wasn't that spicy... But when I tasted it, IT HAD WHOLE JALAPENOS IN IT... Isn't that loads of spicy? Wouldn't they think that me trying to ask if its spicy mean that I don't want spicy??? Enough to warn me it has actual jalapenos in it. The infrastructure is great, but their floor is shedding stone like they used suboptimal concrete to hold the decorative pebbles. They have internet but is apparently not available. Their infrastructure prevents data, so we had to go outside for signal. I went to the male toilet and the wall urinals had no divisions among them, so you are free to show off your big phallic organ if it is large. This is one of the most infuriating parts... They call themselves a cafe but has no caffeinated or non-caffeinated drinks in their menu... It's more of a restaurant as well... AND another kicker is that THEY DO HAVE THEM! They just serve them to CERTAIN customers that they know - friends I guess???

11/10 would...

After reading that the reviews here are good, I went for a few hours drive just to try this place quite far from Manila or Batangas where I came from. The location is good you will have a view of the ocean, towns of sariaya, lucena San Juan and Batangas from afar. We reached the place on a lunch time surprisingly we are the only customers thant time and we ordered their tinapa pasta, their chicken wings platter with 2 flavours and their signature kalayu overload pizza, Americano and samalamig slush. Tinapa pasta is good (this is the only food that we actually enjoyed), their kalayu overload pizza is not good, taste sooo bland and not enjoyable to eat, the chicken wings is very cold as if it was just taken out from the chiller! I ASKED the waitress if it should be that way and she just answered that the chef says the sauce is chilled that why the chicken wings are cold (I DONT THINK SO!). The people here are LIFELESS as if they don't enjoy working here. And they all will come in one corner to make Chismis with each other. OVERALL experience is BAD and Disapointing! Specially coming from a far place just to visit them. I WILL not recommend this place if you coming from hours journey NOT worth your time and money. I Suggest going to the opposite restaurant which We did and enjoyed, experience there is soooo...

This is the last establishment we could find on our way up the mountain from the town proper. It is very cool especially in the evening. If you are lucky not having too much fog, you will get a relaxing view from the mountain all the way to the Port of Lucena. Always brings a sweater, jacket and raincoat. If it gets too windy, you might have a challenging time hanging on to the umbrella. If it rains, avoid parking in the muddy parts of the grass if you can.

Food is your usual Filipino favorites and they also have some cafe beverages like coffee and fruit shakes.

Location is okay for families, barkadas or romantic dates who want some...

Cafe Kalayu is a great place to consider if you're in the mood for some adventure and good food. Wins: - The food is good. On top of that, they also offer unusual combinations like the "Banawe secret" (rice cake with milk, ice cream, mango and nata de coco) and Caldereta fries. They also do buffets, but I haven't tried it yet. - The restaurant looks amazing and cozy. - Fee parking - No hiking required to get here. - The elevation gives it a slightly cooler climate - The staff is amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. Losses: - The road going to the venue is a bit tight, especially for bigger cars - Not accessible to lowered cars
