First thing I did when I woke up today was to reach for my phone and go to googlemaps with the keywords coffeeshops near me. One name caught my eye - Hidden Charm Cafe. I didn't think twice, grabbed some clothes and walked a kilometer to the place.
And boy, it didn't disappoint. The place was very peaceful and the service was very good. Everyone carried a heartwarming smile. Soft music serenaded the area and for no reason, the first song that came to my mind was Peryodiko's Tayo Lang ang May Alam.
If you are a plant collector, your eyes will feast with the wide array of plants that they are selling, I saw a Thaumatophyllum williamsii for sale for a price enough to buy a bike with an Ultegra Groupset. 🤣
I was in between ordering a Tbone Steak and Hungarian Sausage but I decided to choose the latter. Lately, I've been eyeing on hungarian sausages and I've been loving a distinct peppery flavor.
And it's basically what I got. At first bite my eye glimmered in delight. It was tasty and peppery, just the way I imagined how it'll melt in my palate. The eggs were cooked to my liking too - a plate of perfection, worthy of every peso.
For dessert, I grabbed a slice of their Sansrival which was their bestseller and it was very good. I savored every bit of it to the last crumb on the plate.
In case you're going to Tagaytay you might want to check them out. Trust me when I say it's worth the visit. The place is spacious and even caters events such as wedding receptions. They also have an art gallery and a small shop that sells coffee beans, among many others.
Tip: The pin via Google Maps isn't accurate, I got into a different place, but it was near. For an accurate pin, you can use the directions via their...
Read moreIt's a 20-25 seater cafe with a covered patio-like design that takes advantage of the crisp fresh air that comes along with the Tagaytay weather. No AC but there is however an extended small room beside the cafe with an AC if you're not the outdoorsy type. Beside it is the Tree House Mansion which is an events place often mistaken for the cafe. Wide parking along the Tagaytay Silang Hiway entrance. Suggests to enter here which is way easier than driving along the back road. It's a narrow one lane road. It's a one way st. with no visible signage. The coffee around here is ok. Black coffee is served very hot. It could be a blend as it is very smooth with minimal bitterness. Staff are courteous friendly and very efficient. Food is good and serving time is around 15mins. The sisig is delish... perhaps hot sauce will elevate it further. Lumpiang sariwa has a rather thick crepe wrapper which is a bit mouthful. Check availability of the food especially during weekdays. Price points is just a little bit above the average. The vibe and appeal of HCC is more like a restaurant setting where you drop by for a meal rather than a coffee break. Was actually surprised by the big menu. Love the outdoor garden ambiance. Open area is well maintained and there are also plants and...
Read moreCalming place to have your afternoon coffee. We were looking for a café in Silang on our way back to Manila, that’s not too far from the highway. This fits the criteria perfectly… garden cafe, with very nice simple design that suits its surroundings. Love all the beautiful plants around the place, the black and white theme, the different seating areas. It would be perfect if I can read a book here and just have coffee. We ordered Spanish Latte and Hazelnut Latte, salad, waffle and the spicy pizza. The coffee is just okay, I think the price is a bit high for the average taste. The salad and pizza are really good. I like how the thin and crispy the pizza is, they said its spicy because of the jalapeño but not spicy enough for us we had to ask for hot sauce. The waffle, I didn’t like, I think waffle at pancake house is better. Are we going to go back? Yes! I would like to try their restaurant that’s in the same property, maybe bring the family there for lunch. I would also like to have coffee sessions with friends in...
