We ate dinner @ wakanda and we were quite horrified about the atmosphere and the quality of the food.
We expected this restaurant to be of quality since the ratings, and pricing on the menu.
My girlfriend felt very distressed about the staff standing right behind us, and we couldnt get any privacy and intimacy during our dinner. Staff was constantly staring us eating just meters behind and waiting us to finish our meals.
The burger however as stated highest quality waguy, was one of the worst i've ever eaten. And i've eated hundreds of the burgerscene all over the world.
This was one of the worst ever. Totally zero flavor in everything. They hype their burger with some high end fancy words about cured egg yolks but can't even do basic things right.
Totally zero salt and zero pepper on the meat, whole thing just flavorless and pale. The homemade bun was of the same dough as they use for tapas breads in wich it works fine with the crunch, but for burger it was so tough, it made it difficult to eat.
Added reviews on other dishes as restaurant requested:
My girlfriends vegan burger was as horrible aswell. The patty was just tasteless mush and totally lacking seasoning aswell. Cocktails were nothing special, just strong but not exeptionally flavorful. Iberian ham and hummus were only dishes that we somewhat enjoyed, although ham was cut quite thick. Not even close to translucent, as i've had in Spain. Hummus was pretty good, correctly done and quite authentic. Tho this dish is basically just a dip so it wont help to raise overall review of the food.
When i mentioned about the total lack of salt and seasoning, they just threw me some salt and super fine pepper dust on the table. No condiments or whatsoever, for...
Read moreDid not try the food, so can't say anything about that. However, we were there with new years eve and the restaurant handed out fireworks that exploded in the hands of at least 5/6 people. That is not okay, people had serious third degree burning injuries including my girlfriend. You are lucky it did not explode in her face. If you are handing out fireworks, at least make sure they are safe. This is UNACCEPTABLE. When we went to the staff, they did not even say sorry and just gave some ice.
Apart from this, the cocktails that they served were ridiculous, full of ice and the glasses were still half full.
I have to consider pressing charges for liabilities
UPDATE: since Wakanda decided to react to this review almost one month later and also starts accusing us of lying, I do have to react.
First of all, you do have liability as your staff handed out the fireworks of which we have video proof. Second of all this incident was on the dancing floor and not in front of the premises. Third of all we have video of other guests at the bar complaining at the bar and asking for bandages. So of your memory has fooled you that is your concern, but to say that we are lying after such an incident caused by your own incompetence does not reflect good on you and your business. Instead of coming up with lies, come up...
Read moreFood is good. The service was great, and the ambiance of the place was superb. There was even a performance of cooking paella live while we were dining.
Here's what we ordered:
Hummus with Calamansi and Ciabatta: Ciabatta was served hot and perfect. Chewy in the inside and just enough hardness on the outside. But the hummus takes the cake. One of the best hummus I'ves tasted. I recommend this appetizer. 5/5
Chicken Milanese with Fries: The chicken chop is huge and juicy but lacks seasoning so the tomato sauce and the melted cheese is the only thing that saved it. Fries was crispy and hot and the side salad is also good. - 4/5
Seasonal Salad: The seasonal salad is okay. The greens were fresh but the mayonnaise with wasabi dressing is missing that zest and kick that it tasted bland. The crispy chicken is just okay too. - 3/5
The service was exceptional and the staff are kind. They made sure that everything we need was attended to.
Bonus: We were served with a cube of spanish omelette while waiting for our food. One word... scrumptious! I should've ordered that instead of...
