We entered the elegant dining room only to be greeted by a 2 year old throwing a tantrum two tables down from us. This continued off and on throughout the meal. Parents did nothing, leaving it to the nanny to quiet the kid down. We asked to be moved to the patio and the Maitre D' just stood there with a stupid grin on his face and actually told us he could nothing about the situation!!! Like saying, "sorry, you have to endure it. Anyway the people will leave soon." Basically, in such an elegant restaurant they should not allow babies and toddlers. To add to this sorry situation, the lady sitting next to us pulls out her cell phone and yaks while her son talked with a loud voice over his mother's conversation with his girlfriend. So much for a quiet, elegant lunch at Antonio’s!
Also, there was no adherence to the dress code requested by Antonio's. The baby's parents were dressed in shorts,T-shirts, and slippers just like in a mall food court. In general the staff was better dressed than their customers!
Basically, the staff is not trained to handle such a mess and stood by helplessly. This includes the Maitre D'. After the baby and family left, the staff approached us and asked if we would like to take our dessert outside!!! Too little too late!
We moved out to the patio to take our dessert and as usual it was pleasant and elegant until a gentleman arrived with his cigarette sat down on a bench next to us and blew all his smoke over our table!
Again, the staff did nothing but say, "I'm sorry."
If this kind of behaviour is condoned by the management, regular paying customers such as us will flee. Better to eat at home than to put up with this behaviour.
The staff needs to be re-trained to handle the inappropriate behaviour of the guests or this elegant restaurant will gradually slip into Mall food...

The food is Western and European with a lot of attention to details eg watermarked butter, warmed milk with your coffee, well thought of entrees that will suit the number of diners. Plating is elegant and ample. Cocktails are well balanced with thoughtful ingredients and garnishes.
Service is exemplary with the same mindset to details. I came wearing sandals and they provided shoes with disposable socks. The service staff rotates and presents based on dishes and the servers and staff are pretty knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly as well as at the reception and lanai area. Do tip well even if there is already a service charge included in the bill.
The lush and well managed grounds mutually balances with a semi outdoor lanai area which serves as a pre meal space or as a lounge area. The same airy and natural beauty extends into the well expended dining space. The reception area is stately refurbished from old houses. Only drawback is its tendency to have mosquitoes. Details in toilets are also maintained with a luxurious feel. An oasis of calm and relaxation far from the touristy sides of Tagaytay.
Definitely one of the most appropriate and recommended places for special occasions (if you can afford it). Ideal for dates and for families as well.
One of the few standalone fine dining places that are still living up to the highest classic dining standards in our country.

Celebrated a friend’s birthday dinner here last week. It was our first time eating at Antonio’s so we binge watched Youtube vids at 3-star reviews from Tripadvisor. With the recent bad reviews about deteriorating service, I had low expectations. It’s safe to say that we were thoroughly impressed and enjoyed our first time eating here.
Going to the venue: The road was narrow, and it was quite challenging to drive at night with low light. Ample parking space is provided in front and at the back.
Ambience: Spanish hacienda vibes. The dim warm lighting sets the tone of the dinner. We were seated at the mezzanine area.
Food: Everything tasted great and portions are adequate. Meal started with our carafe of fresh dalandan juice and pandesal with butter. For the appetizer, I had the strawberry root salad, but I liked the lardo salad better. Soup of the day was a chowder-style potato soup which was perfectly seasoned. Passionfruit sorbet was served as palate cleanser. With famous steakhouses available in Manila, the smartest choice among the entrees is the Duck Leg Confit. It was just sooo good. Even the potato gratin was good and creamy. For dessert, I got the lemon souffle — it was a miss for me. Best choices would be the tartufo nero or chocolate olive oil cake.
Service: Excellent. We had no complaints on the service staff. Everything went smoothly.
Value for money: A little bit on the pricier side. Can be reasonable for a once-a-year thing.
Overall, it was a nice experience. Still highly recommend for the food quality and great service. Best for...
