La Luma Cafe is perfect for brunches with your family and friends. With its rustic vibe located just outside BGC, this cafe will surely give you the peace of mind after a hectic week at work (of school).
The restaurant has parking spaces at the back of the restaurant (Capistrano St.) and just at the corner of the said street, not too far from the restaurant.
The two-floor cafe is filled with trees and plants, and has a really peaceful ambiance. During lunch, they make sure all guests are seated inside the restaurant (to avoid the al fresco heat) so do make a reservation before coming to the cafe.
Each table (at least inside the cafe) has its own air purifier, a bottle of alcohol, and a face mask pouch. We even had an air cooler with purifier beside our table. All these are big plus points for me to return to this cafe.
They also have a small panaderia where they sell packed coffee beans and grounds, and some packed baked goods.
As for the food, we tried the crostini with spinach dip, fish and chips, and calamansi tuyo pasta
Crostini with spinach dip was a good starter. The bread was wasn’t too soft, but wasn’t too toasted. It was just right with some parmesan cheese grated on top. Although, I found the dip a bit bland. I’d say for a starter, it’s good for a family of 5.
Calamansi tuyo pasta was good and something I’d order again but honestly, it reminded me of the packed and instant pancit canton, which was funny to me. But honestly, it’s something you should try. The balance between the tuyo’s saltiness and the calamansi’s sour taste is just so good 👌🏼
The fish and chips was the best out of our three orders. The fish isn’t like most of the fish & chips we’d eat—50% coating, 20% air, 30% fish. This one is 90% fish, 10% coating, and no space for that air between the two. Also, the serving’s good for its price. I’d say 2-4 pax could...
Read moreHad lunch at this Heritage site located in Taguig on ML Quezon Ave. The complex could house 170 guests. 45 in the Annex house, 30 in the Heritage House and the rest in open air seating.
As one of the restaurants under the Bayani Group, most of their concepts are in Taguig near BGC. They also have a Cafe called Seven to promote their own coffee blends revolving around Ethiopian and Arabica. They have 7 and 2 bean combinations.
For lunch, we started with Berenjenas con Miel or Fried Eggplant with Honey (P169), Seafood Paella (P899), Grilled Pork Belly Sinigang (P500) and Lengua con Setas (P500). Their dishes are Spanish and Filipino favorites. They definitely go well against the backdrop of the Heritage House. It's as if you're at your Abuelo and Abuela's partaking a meal. They are not traditional, though and have been reimagined.
It was my first time to try Fried Eggplant with Honey and I loved it. It was salty and sweet with a bit of crunch because of the fried sugars in the honey. The Paella was also good with my favorite socarrat or "tutong" which adds the smoky burnt flavor and crunch to the mix. I have tasted better Lengua. It comes off as if it just came out of the microwave and not made fresh. The Pork Belly Sinigang, though had layers of flavor due to the initial grilling done to the belly.
A good fancy find, nice as a date place or events venue but not one you'll go back to again and again since the roads are very narrow. If you want to try it out, waze La Luna Cafe Parking because there is no parking at the front. Parking is at the back of...
Read moreFeel like dining in an ancestral house with class? Why not try out this new place called La Luna Cafe. As we interviewed the staff, they just opened June this year.
It was a big WOW for me how they followed the IATF protocols. They're really strict with the social distancing. Alcohol is ready per table and it's not just one, it's two. Same goes with their air purifier and ioniser. Isn't good right?!
We went there breakfast time; so we tried their all time breakfast and for me it's good enough and same goes with its price. The serving is also perfect for one person. So if you're a big eater, you may want to order another plate haha.
For those who have cars, you don't have to worry, as they've got you covered. They have a perfect spot to leave your babies as you enjoy your meal.
Since they're newly opened, of course, there are certain things that they're still working out such as the menu. At the moment they don't have any appetiser and dessert. Which we hope they'll have it soon to complete the dining experience. They've got al fresco dining too which I think and for me will be worth to try at night time.
Their place is really huge and is really good for events too. Looking forward to try it out too once their outside bar is already open. But I guess, once they're already in full operation it will too tough to get a seat. So, better book early as what my partner and I...
