The Highlander Steakhouse — Restaurant in Talisay

I wish I could rate this place 0 stars (subjective). My friend found a crawling insect on her steak… they leave the doors open at night when the restaurant is very brightly lit which causes multiple insects to go inside the restaurant. I understand that we are currently experiencing a pandemic, but I feel like they need to improve on the restaurant’s hygiene. The food is really good, but I got very anxious as I ate and had to stop. The servers were really nice about it though. And the restaurant setting is beautiful. This is a good restaurant but people with bug phobias should stay away. Bug lovers you would enjoy. The place was very cozy with live acoustic serenading during the meal. Attentive ang mga servers to our needs.

We were served complimentary bread & butter after we sat down. Ang sarap nung bread nila promise 👍🏼

We ordered escargot, hudson foei gras, smoke salmon roll, steak carbonara, prime ribs and rack of lamb.

Escargots were bland, the smoke salmon roll is very good! it has crab salad sa loob. Hudson foei gras was good as well esp w/ the jam and pineapple chutney.

Prime ribs are okay but nothing wow. malambot but a bit overseasoned.

Herb crusted lamb rack with was good, hindi gamey. perfect ung partner...

Reservations are highly recommended, as we learned the hard way after attempting to walk in twice during our stay in the Highlands. Third time’s a charm, indeed. The restaurant greets you with a warm log cabin ambiance, perfectly suited to its setting. We ordered a spread that included Caesar salad, ribs, steak, shrimp, clam chowder, mushroom soup, and carbonara. While the ribs were impressive, it was the steak and carbonara that truly stood out, leaving a lasting impression.
