Cafè Mate — Restaurant in Tayabas

This was definitely a hidden gem. We were headed to somewhere that was close and opted for Cafè Mate. We were skeptical because of the Cafè part and we were looking specifically for a restaurant for lunch. Upon entry it was very welcoming, the staff greeted us and sat us right away and were very attentive. Cafè Mate had a very extensive menu but the food took some time to arrive. The food was great though, so it made for the time it took to arrive. We’d say Nacho fries isn’t really their specialty but Filipino dishes is definitely it. We ordered the usual dishes: sisig, crispy pata, pan it and the likes. The portions are huge despite the servers saying it’s for 1-2 people per dish. We definitely had a lot to bring home. Place vibe is good. I love that they have a live band playing music. Can improve on timeliness and managing expectations of diner of wait time. Very relaxing place to eat alone or with your friends and loved ones. Instagrammable place, the staffs and the owners are very accommodating. The food was great especially the sizzling crispy sisig, I loved it. Many cold and hot drinks you can choose from, plus the music while enjoying the foods. Overall was great.
