Hunta Café — Restaurant in Tayabas

This is my second time eating here at Hunta. The first time was okay — the pizza we ordered was decent, and the beer we tried was interesting. Unfortunately, the second visit wasn’t as good.

There were only three groups dining (three tables total), but the serving was very slow. Considering the place is almost two hours away from home, my appetite wasn’t very patient by then.

We ordered a burger and two rice meals — one katsudon and one with shrimp and mayo (see attached picture). The katsudon was quite dry, which surprised me since it’s usually a simple dish to prepare. The rice with shrimp was worse — the shrimp tasted rubbery and old. The burger was also very dry, and even the bun seemed like it was from the previous day.

We spent around 1,000 PHP, and honestly, I felt it would’ve been better if we had just ordered from Jollibee instead.

That said, I still believe this place has potential. The ambiance is nice, and my first visit showed that they can do better. I really hope the food and service improve because it’s a long way to travel, and it would be great to have a place worth...

There are a lot of flies in the area, making it difficult to enjoy the food and the atmosphere. The food quality doesn’t match the price, and the patty is undercooked. Not really wort it!

To clarify a few things:

The patty was given to a cat that was wandering in the dining area, as we didn’t feel comfortable eating it due to it being undercooked. We did bring up the issue of the patty’s doneness with the server, along with mentioning the noticeable presence of flies.

As for taking some food home, we paid for our meal and felt it was reasonable to take the leftover nachos with us, as we had only eaten a small portion.

We traveled a considerable distance to visit your café and decided to take a bit of a break after our meal to rest before the return trip. It was disappointing that the dining experience didn’t meet our expectations in terms of food quality and ambiance, which is why we felt compelled to share...
