We booked the folk show. Turned up just minutes before the allocated time, which was not a great idea because everybody else was there already, so obviously all the best seats were taken. They managed to tuck us away somewhere in the corner. There was a mention of a welcome cherry vodka, but we didn't get that, so we helped ourselves to the wine and beer that was all included in the price. There was some sort of a salad bar on the side, and quite a few people helped themselves to a selection. We went to look at it, but a member of staff barked at us that it was not for us and moved some sort of a screen in front of it. There was a few minutes of dancing and singing, then three course dinner which was served quickly while Polish music was playing through the speakers and then some more dancing and singing by the performers. Then they announced there was a buffet on the side, but obviously not many people would be hungry after just eating a three course meal. I think there was tea and coffee there as well, but by the time I got up to see what was on the buffet, it was actually time to leave. It was a fixed time for the finish, so you can't linger. There was a shot of cherry vodka offered on the way out. Beautiful building and a'lacarte menu looks great. Everyone speaks English, so there is no communication...
Read moreNot a bad experience, but certainly not great. The dancing was fun to watch, and we were helped because we had a Polish couple next to us that helped explain the foods, songs, and dancing.
They will seat you cafeteria style and the beer and wine and some of the food is self serve. I would get to the beer and wine fast as the will run out quickly, I had to secret a bottle of white wine to the table as it was the last one. They do serve a soup course and an entree, then they open the smorgasbord for perogies, salad, some cheese, some lunch meat, and deserts. Service was fine as everyone was served the same entree unless they have a gluten allergy. One young woman at our table was Celiac and they were able to accommodate her, but it took forever the get her food after the rest of the restaurant was served. The food had a very cafeteria style feel and taste to it, you can tell they just make a lot of the same thing at once and then bring it out. The food was ok, nothing great, just kind of mediocre.
The show was fun to watch. Lots of dancing and singing and shouting. We had a great time watching that and they even incorporated the audience in some dances. That was fun to watch and participate in. Overall my last evening and meal in Krakow could have been better, but I did enjoy myself and I...
Read moreBrilliant night at a traditional Polish folk show 16 Feb 2023. Really nice location, I looked back on my phone to see if I had any photos and I didn't have one. I was having way too much fun to get the phone out. The singers and musicians were absolutely brilliant, the staff were really welcoming and kind. I tried some broken words in Polish and got a great response. I had three kids in my party aged 10,11 & 13 and they really had an unforgettable experience. This place is worth the trip. The food was delicious and I had plenty of white wine to go with it. It was very busy the night we were there so the Singer who was like a songbird could have benefited from a microphone to just take it up a notch or two (group beside us was a little noisy) . I would suggest this as a must see element to any trip to Krakow. It's about a 15 minute drive from the Sheraton Hotel, the atmosphere is electric, the food delicious, the staff are top notch and you'll be smiling from ear to ear. I can't wait to go back someday soon :) 5...
