I booked the hotel for a week in Poland as a base for us to explore the local area and I booked based on reviews and price in the area. |Arrived quite late, around 2130 but was given a friendly greeting and a key to a room on the 1st floor. Our baggage had not arrived at the airport and the staff were great at letting us know where we could find a few essentials at that time of night. |The hotel looks quite new and the room reflected this, modern furniture, enough to place away your belongings at the very least, air con, a big TV and the usual for making tea/coffee etc. the bathroom was surprisingly small but I’m not complaining, it had everything you need including a hair dryer and a good strong shower. (No bath, not that this bothers me).|I was surprised to see a good sized balcony the next day which includes chairs and a small table.|The restaurant is accessible from outside or inside and is just a moments walk.|Ample car parking available and the place is maybe a mile and a half walk from the train station. That said taxis are cheap and available at reception. One taxi charged us 13zlotys another 17. Hardly expensive. If you’re driving and in particular not used to driving on the right, like me, the end of the lane turning left toward town is a little challenging! As is finding the end of the lane coming off the main road (it’s not well marked), basically it’s next to the bright yellow wall. Generally by the time you have seen the wall you have driven past it :)|The restaurant has a good, diverse menu and I recommend you work your way through it but on a personal note, you really, REALLY need to try the potato fritters. The portions are large and the food is tasty and filling. Breakfast is a good continental mix of meats, hot and cold, eggs, cheeses, bread, cereal and much more. You won’t go hungry here, trust me. And on a side note, cake and a disposable cups are available for those who need to ‘take breakfast out’.|I truly cannot fault the team here. The staff were attentive and helpful at all times regardless of what questions you asked them. |Were I ever to visit Poland again, I wouldn’t hesitate to come and stay here. I hope you enjoy it as...
Read moreI had the pleasure of experiencing a delightful weekend at the Old Tree Villa & Restaurant, and I must say, the hospitable and courteous service truly made my stay memorable.
Upon arriving, I was greeted with warm smiles and a sense of genuine hospitality. The cleanliness of the apartment, equipped with a convenient mini-kitchen, was impressive. The thoughtful touch of welcome sweets and a selection of hot beverages added to the overall welcoming atmosphere.
One of the highlights of my stay was the remarkable restaurant. The dishes offered were not only sizable but bursting with incredible flavors. The restaurant also boasts an inviting outdoor bar area for those seeking a relaxed atmosphere. Moreover, the villa encompasses a private area dedicated to children, complete with play equipment to keep them entertained. Inside, a dedicated children's room brims with a diverse array of toys.
The breakfast arrangement follows a splendid Swedish table concept, offering a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. Additionally, I appreciated the convenience of takeaway coffee, perfect for those embarking on a day of exploration.
In summary, my experience at the Old Tree Villa & Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. The blend of outstanding service, comfortable amenities, delectable dining, and family-friendly features make it an ideal destination for a getaway. I eagerly look forward to returning for another...
Read moreI was greeted with a friendly, efficient check in, and made my way to a modern room with large balcony. A room perfect for a quick stop over. Dinner service was OK, the menu is extensive and not bad quality for the price. The breakfast had a great choice covering everything contanental you'd expect and some local treats also. ||The Old Tree seems to be a new establishment so there were some hitches. After returning from the neerby Auchwitz sites, I was told the bar and restaurant were closed to guests. I had no prior notification, so was left stranded in the room with no fridge or room service and a TV with what seems like 900 blank channels. ||This is out of order, but the friendly staff were quick to apologise and happy to accommodate some drink requests for my room. ||The staff acknowledged there should at least be some prior notification so alternative plans can be made. I hope this will be implemented to save future guests the same trouble. ||||Still, all can be forgiven, this not a five star, nor does it pretend to be. If you want a competitively priced, modern and friendly stop-off, this is your place.||||P.S. Note to staff. Simple things to help you improve other then the previously mentioned notifications would be; do not disturb signs and waste paper bascuits from the rooms. A welcome/Info pack with local reccmendations and a list of the channels that actually work would not go...
