Came to eat smth meaty. Ordered "pork chop with vegetables." Pointed to menu, said that i want this.
The waiter took the menu out of my hands (without asking if I still needed it), repeated something in Polish and said "ok" and left. Well, I stayed to wait for my order. They bring me potato pancakes with mushrooms. I think maybe I'm stupid and it's a schnitzel, I try it. I realise there's no meat and it's just pancakes.
I call the waiter and ask "is this a pork chop?", again thinking maybe I'm stupid and there's meat, but I can't taste it.
He says "no, you ordered pancakes."
I politely explain that I pointed my finger in the menu at the pork and voiced in English, he starts to prove to me in raised tones that I ordered pancakes.
I explain that technically I couldn't have ordered them because I don't eat such things (neither regular nor potato) + to be honest I didn't even see them on the menu.
He starts proving to me by raising his voice that I ordered pancakes. And so 10 times round and round with a specific aggression on me. The main argument was that he repeated after me. I don't speak Polish and I said the name of the dish in English. He repeated it in Polish - ok if he felt comfortable (I didn't understand anything).
The waiter's English was really not very good, it didn't bother me. Wrong dish - it happens, I politely asked for a replacement, I didn't want to shout back at him. He says "you can order extra pork". I say I'm not going to pay for the pancakes as I didn't order them. He just ignores my questions and keeps saying "you can order extra". Anyway, he did replace the dish, and in a showy manner threw the new utensils on the table.
I came here to relax, enjoy my food, but I ended up sitting there stressed and wanting to leave quickly because the waiter was walking around looking at me with anger.
In general, if you do not speak Polish - do not come here, as you will not be understood and then spoil your mood + you will feel that you are discussed with other waiters. In short, you will not be able to enjoy the food.
It was my second visit here, but the last. I don't recommend it.
Last time I’ve put 4 stars here. Now putting 1 and not...
Read moreThis is the only eatery at Krakow airport that purports to offer traditional Polish cuisine. Since there are very few eating options at the airport, this restaurant gets busy very often and there can be a wait both for seating and getting the food ready. Check the projected waiting time before ordering. In my experience the staff was competent, friendly, helpful, and kind. The service was efficient and professional, even though I hadn't to wait a bit longer due to the many customers. Since there aren't many restaurants at the airport, Galicya is one of the few...
Read moreI take 1 breakfirst here while waiting for myflight. There is not many option for eating in Krakow airport. Most of avaiable option is snack, sandwich or panini. For restaurant, there only 2-3 options. For me, this restaurant is ok for food and drinks, price is acceptable, especially when you are hungry and your waiting time is long. I took a typical break first of Krakow (sorry cant remember the name, but its the first choice in breakfirst menu), its simple but ok,...
