The experience we had with U Ziyada was a huge disappointment, the teams are far from being professional (from the commercial to the waiters), and here are the reasons:

-15 days before our event, they changed the plans we agreed on, because they 'internally miscommunicated' (...) and sold the spot to 2 groups. Or maybe they just took the most profitable booking and ditched us, who knows? We were supposed to be in the Baszta in intimacy on a round table -- they put us under the arcades instead, in the Cafe where there are a lot of movements and on a rectangle table. We should have searched for another place, but due to the tight timing we could not... and it was a big mistake. on D-Day, they were not able to send the dishes in the correct order, I felt ashamed in front of the guests - we got the starter before the amuse-bouche. The plates were arriving 3 by 3 with mainly 1 non-experienced waitress, so we had to wait like 10 minutes for everybody to be served every time, because the kitchen was in Baszta and the waitress was running all the time back and forth. there was not even water on the table (isn't it the base? especially that it was written on the contract we signed!) and when we asked for it, they charged us! What a shame. and last but not least, they threw the plates of the layered cake that was delivered by an external pastry chef, while she informed at least 2 or 3 waiters to carefully keep them, as it's an expensive working tool that she needs to get back. This pastry chef who was left under the sunshine 30min with the cakes by the way, before someone from the staff deigns to pay her attention and propose to her a place where she could make the cake assembly. We claimed compensation for her from the restaurant and they offered us... a voucher to come back and eat there! What a bad joke, I'd not go back there even if I'm paid for.

For the so-called high standing of this place and the prices they charge, this chaotic organization is obviously unacceptable, and I would totally NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE to trust them for an important event. At least the food was good - but it's far from enough to make an...

Despite its stunning location and elegant setting, my experience at U Ziyada was deeply disappointing and frankly unacceptable. I visited the restaurant in the morning and ordered something as simple as eggs. What followed was a surreal and frustrating 45-minute wait—yes, 45 minutes for eggs—with no update or explanation from the staff.

After this unreasonable delay, I got up and politely approached the waiter to ask if the order was coming. What I encountered was not just incompetence, but mockery. The waiter, instead of apologizing or checking on the order, laughed with a colleague as if the situation was amusing. They spoke in Polish, apparently assuming I wouldn’t understand—but although I’m Italian, my mother is Polish, and I fully understood their crude remarks.

They were openly making fun of my Italian accent and cynically joked that they would just let me wait until I gave up and left. These comments weren’t just unprofessional—they were deeply disrespectful and completely destroyed any sense of hospitality the restaurant’s setting might suggest.

The two young male waiters involved showed a level of immaturity and rudeness that is unacceptable in any establishment, let alone one that presents itself as refined and high-end. No matter how beautiful the view may be, a restaurant that treats its guests with such disdain does not deserve your time, money, or trust.

Unless management takes serious steps to address the behavior and training of its staff, especially those working the morning shift, I strongly advise against visiting U Ziyada. A meal isn’t just about the food—it’s about feeling welcome, respected, and cared for. Sadly, this place offers none of that.

Avoid it if you want to start your...

Despite its nice view on top of a hill and a nicely designed interior, my very personal experience here was unfortunately a major disappointment.

It was my first visit last Sunday, after a pleasant walk around Las Wolski. We decided to stop by for dinner, thinking it would be a nice place to relax and enjoy a good meal, but it turned out to be quite the opposite!

While the view and interior are indeed lovely, the kebab jagnięcy was, without exaggeration, one of the worst kebabs I’ve ever had!! Comparing it to what you’d find in Turkey or elsewhere in the region would simply be unfair to real kebabs. The portion was extremely small and I’d estimate around 100–150 grams before cooking. And to make matters worse, it was served on cinnamon sticks, which not only made no sense at all but was never mentioned anywhere on the menu. That’s simply unacceptable and, frankly, far too amateur for a place that positions itself as a quality restaurant.

To make it worse, I am quite certain the kebab was pre-cooked and only reheated before serving. It was incredibly dry, with pieces sticking to the cinnamon sticks, making the already small portion even smaller. The fact that it arrived at the table in under 10 minutes, despite the restaurant being fairly busy, only reinforced that suspicion.

My friend ordered soup, cheesecake, fries, an espresso, and an americano. In total, we ended up paying 135 zł each (for two people).

Overall, this has been one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve personally had in a long time. Beautiful view aside, the food quality, portion size, and presentation were far below expectations. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this...

We were recommended U Ziyad at Zinar Castell as one of the best restaurants in the area, but sadly it did not live up to expectations. We were seated on the terrace, which offered no particularly nice views—definitely nothing spectacular as promised. The service was painfully slow, though staff were at least polite. Timing was a major issue throughout the evening. While the two cuts of meat we ordered were very good, the rest of the meal was a disappointment. The escalope and risotto arrived cold and undercooked. I had ordered a cauliflower steak, but what I received was a barely cooked piece of cauliflower and something that resembled couscous—certainly not a steak. To make matters worse, our tea and side dishes (“dodatki”) were brought only after we had finished our main courses. When we raised our concerns with the waiter, they listened and offered a 10% discount—which turned out to be the value of the obligatory service charge. It felt more like a formality than any real gesture of apology. Overall, this place is clearly not equipped to deliver the high standards it claims. The food (apart from the meat) was bland and tasteless, the service disorganized, and the experience not worth the hype. Definitely not impressed and would not recommend.
