João Dos Leitões — Restaurant in Águeda

The piglet is indeed fantastic but unfortunately there were negative aspects. We had a reservation and still had to wait 45min for our food, the sides were moderately cold when we got them.

But the main reason for this average to bad review was the quantity of the piglet, we order 2 portions (for two people) which is supposedly 600g and no way it was 300g per person. Sendo açoriano e amante de um bom leitão assado, sempre que venho ao Continente aproveito para matar saudades desta iguaria tão nossa. Desta vez, ao passar por Águeda, decidi procurar um sítio onde pudesse satisfazer o paladar. Perguntei a um local, que prontamente me recomendou o João dos Leitões — e em boa hora o fez! Chegámos cedo, sendo os primeiros clientes a entrar para o almoço. O espaço surpreendeu pela positiva: muito agradável, com um ambiente acolhedor e uma limpeza irrepreensível. O atendimento foi exemplar — simpáticos, atenciosos e eficientes. Mas o verdadeiro destaque vai, como não poderia deixar de ser, para o leitão. Simplesmente divinal. Assado no ponto certo, pele estaladiça como se quer, carne suculenta e saborosa. As batatas fritas caseiras que o acompanharam estavam igualmente no ponto — estaladiças por fora, macias por dentro.
