Lovely place for a glass of wine, I would never recommend it for food. Well below average at best with grumpy untrained staff..
Husband and I have gone 3 times in 18 months, always disappointed. The 1st time we left thinking, "ah maybe the food & service were bad because they were off season", then the next time we excused them saying "ah they were too busy".. last time (a couple weeks ago). We booked for 8, we romanticised the look at night and hoped for good food.
FOOD: All wrong. 55 min between ordering and getting starters, a Carpaccio was big enough to fit in a spoon. it look like what is left in the plate after eating a Carpaccio.. Overpriced tiny portion.
The worse part: 3 of the mains came cold, mine was on of them. I mean stone COLD in the centre. The waiter did not notice three cold plates when handling them to the table? we could still see the white uncooked fat of the pork. quite unappealing.
We sent it back to be put in the microwave at least, it came back out 30 sec later still cold food on a cold plate.. We were starving after 18 holes of golf I could have eaten my elbow, so we ate the cold pork bits that were cooked. I had to profusely apologise to my two other friends feigning it was the first time it was that bad .
Service: Terrible. We were ignored by Natasha, she avoided eye contact and upon insistence she curtly said: "I am very busy wait please" there was a Gasp at the table, all she needed to say at the beginning was "'I will be with you in a minute we are very busy" or something like that, (though there were only 2 other tables at that hour) instead of ignoring my husband whom only wanted to order a bottle of wine, while we waiting the long 50+ min to get our starters.
The waiter was even worse, a friend ordered a plate of fries (to complement the cold pork dish) it came AFTER she finished her meal, so she said sorry I am finished please take it back. He said loudly for all to hear: "You ordered them", I mean this is the person that had to wait for her cold plate to be reheated to only receive cold again and on top of that receive chips after her meal, that was the height of rudeness.
That speaks volumes about whomever is the not managing this team. Restaurant charges resort prices but does not train their team on how to deliver a service that is better that petrol station stop shop.
We were sent desserts on the house, which we happily ate. However we would have preferred adequate service...
Read moreThinking about what could have been... After looking at the interesting and fun menu online, we were excited about the potential of this restaurant. Unfortunately, the slow service killed our excitement and left us wishing we had gone somewhere else. The first red flag was upon entering it took almost five minutes for anyone to greet us, and then they just told us to sit wherever was not welcoming. Then in this remote location they have only a QR code menu which didn't load fast on our phone and then the waitress was short with us when we didn't know everything we wanted after less then a minute of looking at the menu. Especially when the play on Word menu items takes a minute to fully understand. Then we did finally order the waitress, which was particularly unfriendly about the fact that two of us were going to share three appetizers and one main dish. (She also seemed to have an issue with the fact that we wanted a side order of fries) overall Her attitude really rubbed us the wrong way. Then our wine order was delivered incorrectly and sarted pouring it before even asking if it was the right thing. Next, bread and cheese shows up at our table, which would have been nice had we ordered it or it was complimentary, but it was not. Next, it took almost 30 minutes for our dishes to arrive. The food was good and interesting but the portion or fish was very small. The cherry on top was we ordered the fondue as a birthday dessert for my girlfriend. After we waited for literally 30 minutes, we still hadn't gotten the dessert and asked for the check. The question for the check was ignored until the dessert arrived on our table several minutes after this. Also, the fondue was like an espresso sized cup of chocolate suace and really basic fruits. After all, it seemed they just had an off night here, but at this restaurants price point and remote location, this is almost unacceptable! Unfortunately a birthday was ruined... The only redeeming part of this meal was the manager whom we paid with did not charge us for the dessert or...
Read moreI found this restaurant in the middle of nowhere by consulting Google maps after a morning of bird shooting on the shores of nearby Lago Obidos. It is integrated in an upscale hotel-restaurant complex. The restaurant has been the victim of some design over-ambitions by the architects, like when you try to use the toilets and wash your hands afterwards with the lights going out. The menu has vegetarian options for lunch and I selected a beet-root rice followed by a cheese cace and accompanied by a very good red, served by the glass. Good value for money and highly...
