O Ramiro — Restaurant in Abrantes

This restaurant took 2 full hours to fulfill my lunch order for 7 people and came out midway to inform that they had ran out of 2 of the ordered plates. When they finally served the food we found out, to my dismay, that the meat was poorly cooked, borderline of raw. It could be due to an incredibly busy day but the end result is that I won't be returning any time soon.

Edit: This complaint was indeed presented orally to the General Manager/Owner (Mr. Ramiro) on the day it happened, despite the fact that less than 24 hours later, when confronted with the present review, he claimed to have no knowledge of this fact and advised me to never come back because I wouldn't be welcomed anymore, which is widely known as the textbook reaction to handle customer...

This restaurant is a perfect example of honest Portuguese food, elevated by a spectacular, artistic presentation and offered at an honest price. What truly sets it apart is the human touch: the hospitality of the owners and the unequal friendliness of the well-trained staff make you feel cherished and at home instantly. It is simply astounding to find this level of quality, both in cuisine and in service, in such a small town. Devo ter tido muito azar. Com tanta review boa, não contava com quase 2 horas à espera sentado. Serviço demasiado demorado, comida mediana e um ambiente pesado, uma vez que várias mesas estava a reclamar do fraco atendimento. Para além disso não gostei particularmente da comida, apesar de ter pedido um prato simples de bifinhos com cogumelos. A comida foi servida numa frigideira decorada (de uma forma pretensiosa, que não se entende) com canónigos e tomate cherry, como se fosse um prato de alta gastronomia. Só serviu, a meu ver para atrapalhar. A carne eram pedaços enormes de frango, mal cortados, que praticamente ficaram quase todos no prato. A acompanhar batata frita que veio fria e mole. Fiquei tão mal impressionado que nem sequer experimentei os outros pratos escolhidos para a nossa mesa, como por exemplo os filetes de polvo com arroz de amêijoas (julgo) que me pareceu extremamente seco só de olhar. É como disse no início, devo ter tido muito azar, mas seguramente...
