Restaurante Paraíso do Algarve — Restaurant in Albufeira

We live near this restaurant so have tried pretty much everything on the menu. They always have a good selection of 'couverts' which they bring to the table and ask you to choose. If you want nothing they take at away, no problems. Chicken (with or without piri-piri) is very good and inexpensive. Good steaks, pork dishes and also a good fish selection. Lunch always has a couple of Prato do dia selections and they are good value. We had frango no forno for 4, beers, coffee, olives, bread carrots all for €40 (€10 each). Staff are really friendly and, quite important during this covid time, very focussed on cleanliness and safe dining. Dinner is also really good with some excellent steak options (try the stone steak - superb) or the steak on the bone (huge). A good wine selection accompanies the food. Been coming here for years and keep forgetting to write a review because I consider it by now so normal that this place serves great food at reasonable prices, it is very well managed and efficient, that is why it is also our place to go to when we have guests or business relations. Specially recommend the bife the lombo (fillet steak, comes standard on the stone but if you like they will just grill it any way you want) and the polvo a lagareiro, the octopus. That dish I never found anywhere so great, and what is also good is that the sides match the octopus, those potatoes are to die for. Two other reasons to go here: ample parking and a childrens playground. I asked for piri-piri chicken for lunch. The waiter said the menu do dia was chicken. I asked him to give it with piri-piri...no problem. The chicken came without piri-piri. During the eating nobody came or asked something. After the eating the waiter only asked : Finished ? Then I ordered coffee and a desert. It was put on the table. When I asked what was inside the desert, he said: sweet from the home... After the desert I had to wait again a long time before there was someone coming. After asking he brought the bill.. didn't say or ask anything. I already left the building when he came back to collect the money... Although it wasn't what I ordered for, the food...
