Got the tip of a local, first impressed with more variety on the menu. Service though was definitely so so. First of we said hello and one of the waitresses waved us away, then they were a bit impatient in the beginning, afterwards pretty slow. Maybe we didn't look rich and old enough. Food wise we had the gambas a dona Bia which were really good but wayyy to expensive, 20 euros for 8 prawns without anY sides is ridiculous. The same page on the menu indicates the price in kg, giving you the impression that these are kg prices which would be very fairly priced for a tasca. It's clearly not and even the waiter at the end said that a lot of people get it wrong. Well.... the small simple tasca style salad was 7 euros (!!!) which unfortunately we realised on our way back home. This is the part that really drives me mad, as its half a tomato and 3 leaves of salad, that costs absolutely nothing. The amêijoas were very good but 16.50 for a smaller dose than usual is also pretty far out, compared to even expensive marisqueiras in lisboa this is too pricy. Ending up with a 55 euros bill (without any wine or beer!!) and not happy, had a nice talk with one of the staff members and got distracted, and then we were in a rush, so didn't check at first. Again, the food itself was immaculate but the pricelevel and the service is a clear minus. Throw 25 euros on top and you get a sapateira for 2 people, gambas cozidos, amêijoas, percebes to taste and wine and entradas easily at almost any marisqueira in Lisbon. Or feed the whole family to eat at ascenhas do Mar.

I have been going to Dona Bia restaurant for years (its the type of restaurant that is part of your growing up memories) and the food and service always was/is the best, I was always treated as part of the family; I moved to a different country and it has been 6/7years since I visit D.Bia. I went back this year 2020, and during COVID-19, and I must say; the restaurant has undergone a facelift but the things that matter, the delicious food is still as I remember! The food is still as delicious as I remembered, the high standards of service are still there ! The safety measurements for this pandemic are in place. I still feel like I’m the most special client (that’s the way they always make you feel) in-spite the restaurant is always full/active, the staff goes out of their way to accommodate your request and the way you want your food! The food is so tasty that there are no words to describe it, except food from heaven. I highly recommend the visit
