O Tonico — Restaurant in Alcobaça

We were a couple who made it clear to the waiter that we wanted to try variety of tastes. We were keen on getting the seafood rice but he said its only 90 euro portion which is good for two. But man, this is a meal for six people. We felt that the whole thing was overpriced, and did not give us the nice dinner experience at all. The lobster meat and shrimps meat themselves were pretty tough and some shrimps hand hard sand in then. We ended up taking more than half in a doggy bag.

What a fantastic restaurant. We arrived late at our accommodation and found them open. We had a seabass grilled freshly caught that day with vegetables and boiled potatoes. What an amazing meal. The waiter was lovely, helpful, engaging and spoke English which is great as our Portuguese is non existing. We enjoyed it so much we booked for the weekend and took our friends. We all picked different food, grouper, lobster, steak, clams. We all really enjoyed the food and we had the same waiter again. Excellent fresh fish and brilliant service. Tonico is a highly recommended seafood house that is recommended by trip advisor. I found that very impressive as well as how full this seafood house is. My family and I made reservations and the servers accommodated us by putting two tables together since were 7. The servers are compassionate and helpful.
