My favorite restaurant in a very long time! Of course, we ate all of the little extras on the table and padded the bill. The olives were terrific and the reason we started eating the rest, but the bread was also very fresh and delicious and whatever was in those little fried balls of heaven was for me!

Then someone came to speak with us in English, thank God, and we ended up ordering without knowing what we ordered. That's not a first for our foreign travels. Anyway, we got three 3 steaks to share, all well seasoned, the best being the national beef, second wagyu and the third the aged beef, which was the inverse order of cost. We added a salad, had fries and rice with beans, and still managed dessert! That was followed by a clear alcoholic beverage and another cordial of red berries with some sweet little dough balls on the side.

Service was ok, just different than home. No one checked on us until we were finished and we had to watch someone else leave to figure out that we paid at the counter.

We would definitely, definitely return and recommend that you try them. Make a reservation to be sure as they...

I tried this place finally despite the rain today. Thank you, nice waiter, for speaking English. I will one day learn Portuguese. The restaurant was quite busy when I arrived just after two in the afternoon while it was wet and misty. They say the rain is much needed, but it sure is tough getting around when it's wet everywhere.

I had I think he said it was the national aged steak, which came with rice and beans, French fries, and a garlic and mashed bread thing (which I didn't eat too much of since one can't have too much gluten!). They also gave me bread and olives. The steak was really yummy, and, of course, this Asian finished every kernel of rice.

I'm definitely going back because...

We had the most amazing experience. It was our first time here and we knew we wanted to have steak. Our waiter recommended the 3 steak board which was plenty for two people. Served with plenty of side dishes..If you want a wonderful, truly portuguese experience then you must come here. The chef brings out the steak board and slices it up at your table. Superb. Fish dishes available but this is truly a wonderful place for meat lovers. Superb staff. Thank you for a truly wonderful portuguese...

Great place for meat lovers! It’s a cozy restaurant on the side of a road and if you don’t know about it, you maybe wouldn’t notice it at first. However, it is a must try if you are in the Alcobaça region! It’s very popular so it is recommended to make a reservation. We tried all three different steaks, and loved all of them. The starters were very nice too. The staff is friendly and explains about the different cuts. We’ve been here twice already and definitely going to come back in the future!

We ordered the wagyu steak, asked about its grading and it turned out not to be Japanese wagyu, but a similar animal bred in Europe. The meat was nearly without any marbling and its taste was vulgar, resembling ordinary beef. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare point. Service was sub par, the restaurant is understaffed and although I had a reservation, I had to wait 20min to be seated while I could see several empty tables inside. The chocolate mouse was decent but not more.
