As a semi-local to the region, I have made many trips to Victor's restaurant. It is a humble family-run restaurant, with friendly staff. You cannot really go wrong with the menu... but the main attraction here, I believe, is the octopus (when the restaurant has regulars drive tens/hundred km to have it, it's good!).
Even with a crowded place, they have great service and pay attention to every customer. If you have any questions, the staff will gladly help. If you would like one particular dish, you can call in advance to order (e.g. seasonal foods on hunting season).
They make a great tuna paste entrée. If you are a desert person, they have a creative variety of deserts to choose from.
If you have some time to drive to Malpartida to enjoy a meal that will make you come back, it is definitely...
Read moreFriendly owner and good tasty food. Great outdoor seating and lots of parking available. What more could you ask for? Then I ordered the bacalhau au gratin (creamy cod fish) and my friend ordered the beef with wild mushrooms, together with a carafe of house wine. I ordered extra chips which was a mistake but they just looked and tasted great! My plate was piping hot and too much for me. It was exactly how I remembered from my childhood. The mushrooms and sauce were divine although the meat was a tad chewy. Dessert was a concoction of cream cheese and roasted almonds and too good to share. Altogether a fantastic meal. We...
Read moreI have been all over Galicia, Asturias, Andalucía, Lisboa, Porto, etc….but the best Bacalao a Bras and definitely their pulpo is the best I’ve ever tried. It’s located in a small, sleepy town, restaurant looks very normal but they have grandmothers with hairnets cooking in the kitchen. When you see that, you know it’s going to be 🔥🔥🔥. It’s my favorite restaurant in the area, from Salamanca to Lisbon - it is an absolute hidden gem and a staple when we visit the Pueblo nearby in Spain. Desserts are unreal as well. Definitely order the pulpo and bacalao-a-bras. The bacalao with queso is the third dish we always order. Hearty portions.
