A nice clean indoor space, no terrace. Kind staff, tasty local food, especially delicious meat and local wine. If you come for an early lunch (12 or 1 am) no reservations are required in our experience, however for dinner, you need to book in advance. Staff speaks really good English, so don't be shy to call and book. Once there, they will advise you about the food and wine and also the menu is bilingual. We ate here twice, once coming in siesta time at 4 pm and were served quickly and kindly although being the only customers in the time when it is not customary to dine around here. We had steaks and a plate of local sausages. The steaks were tasty, juicy, spiced with care and according to local preferences (expect garlic and leek in local foods around here:) The local blood sausage - morçela was so wonderfully fluffy, juicy, and crunchy - if you decide to try it, try it here. Don't let the industrial look of the building and the agricultural surroundings discourage you, this is a lovely restaurant and a real taste of local delicacies and kindness!

I got the sirloin steak. I kid you not, it was half fat. And it came in like a pool of butter. I gathered all the fat and asked the waitress if a sirloin on Terceira is always so fatty? We had just come from Sao Miguel and our favorite restaurant was the Association restaurant on Sao Miguel. The waitress couldn’t understand my question and her coworker came over and when I again asked if it’s normal here for the meat to be so fatty, he too said he did not understand. They ended up putting the about 100g of fat in a baggy and giving it to me, thinking I was asking to take home the excessive amount of fat. On the whole, the steak was of poor quality and not good. What is a shame is that this is the Terceira Association restaurant! It should be showcasing their best!

Much smaller than the one on Sao Miguel but still committed to a damn fine steak. Surprisingly quiet for Sunday lunch ( the chip truck across the street seemed to be the place to be) but we were still served with graciousness and a smile. English spoken of course. Went for the Alcatra cut (rump steak) done rare and not disappointed. Silky and flavorful beef. A note to the possibly squeamish: the area also serves as an abattoir our back so as you saunter from the parking lot, you may hear your dinner mooing or bleating. Not vegetarian friendly, obviously! Steak, fries, bread, a beer, dessert and an espresso - 18 euros. Lovely.

I had a very mixed experience. The food was quite good at a very fair price.

The room is beautiful, and when I arrived mid afternoon by myself, no more than 1/3 filled. The woman at the front motioned to a table in the corner. I protested that there were lots of other tables. She noted the reservation signs and repeated the table number, which felt like I was being punished. I debated leaving but was hungry. No one sat at any of those tables over the next hour.

The bread was great. So was the table wine. Another server came to take my order (filet mignon sandwich); I tried to order it pink: rare. She gave up and sent a man who spoke English over. I don’t speak Portuguese though I do speak Spanish, and requesting meat cooked a certain way is hardly weird or rare. (In France, you ask for it bleu!)

Eventually they brought the steak sandwich. It was tender and tasty though medium-well. I paid, like they were doing me a favor. Disappointing, in a country where so many restaurants are so welcoming. Bring a...

We had a quite underwhelming experience at this restaurant. We had a reservation for right when they opened which I think might be the explanation.

The steak was quite overcooked so it seems the grill was still cold when it was put on, same as the fries that weren't crispy. The cheese on the cheeseburger wasn't melted and some more little things that made the meal feel a little rushed. So the main thing I would say to the chef is that it's okay to take 10 minutes more to heat the grill and melt the cheese, service was very fast and we understand you still need to start up when you've just opened :)

The service however was amazing!! The waiters are very nice and helpful. They asked us multiple times if everything was okay and when they were notified of a mistake with a side dish they fixed it...
