To try Pedro's experience you need to book a table, no walk in. There are very few things that I want to elicit : the food is very typical, there is no other place where you can try these kind of plates. all the ingredients are km 0 , so the quality is excellent. Pedro is a wine enthusiast, you'll find a very selective wine list, only from local producers. the restaurant is so beautiful, full of quotes and lovely pics. the playlist is just perfect for what you are going to experience. last, but most important, Pedro, this guy is so passionate about his job that you can feel it immediately by the way he welcomes you ( with the plus of a glass of local Muscat on the house). The restaurant has been run from him since 1999, he is so precise in all he does, he is friendly but not invasive , very professional, tells you a lot of curiosities about the Douro Valley, and so much more...

I mean, if you are still in doubt, just don't, you find Pedro's number easily on Google, text him , and go have fun, I never leave reviews but that dinner has left something special in my heart.

WOW! What an incredible experience!! We were staying at the Quinta da Barroca and decided to venture out one afternoon. We found this wine bar and google and decided to walk there for an afternoon visit. We had no idea there was a private party (a wine cruise) and that reservations were required for lunch - but despite being full to the brim - Pedro, the owner and his staff welcomed us with open arms! They brought us some homemade Vinho Verde and tasty snacks and even taught us a little about their village and some Portuguese words.

We even got invited into the private party for some dancing and local music! We capped it all off with Pedro's delicious homemade port and great conversation.

The food was incredible. A true taste of local cuisine, expertly cooked.

It was a very intimate experience where we got to share life experiences over good food and wine. We laughed with the owner over stories and mice experiences, made great connections and shared a passion for good music.

The food. I love that we got to enjoy a “cooked like home” meal without worrying. The wine was amazing, the hospitality is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.
