In the centre of the quaint wine area village just 25km north of Lisbon, this busy, large traditional restaurant attracts queues every weekend with a limited menu, a local wine list dominated by the nearby producer São Sebastoão, efficient service (ask for a table by Júlio and you are in safe hands) and a classic decoration with better acoustics than expected.
We arrived 3 with a reservation to a full restaurant with the first queue for lunch at 1230, had the couvert with very tasty olives and bread, very fresh goat cheeses, delicious sausage plate, with a local rosé and waters, for mains a posta de bacalhão, and for dessert a apple merengue plus a pudim with coffee for €90.
